Light Novel 'Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy' Gets TV Anime

Publishing company Kadokawa announced a television anime adaptation of Shuichi Nimaru's Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy (The Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won't Lose) light novel on Saturday. The anime series is scheduled for a 2021 premiere.

Synopsis
My childhood friend Shida Kuroha seems to have feelings for me. She lives next door, and is small and cute. With an outgoing character, she's the caring Onee-san type, this being one of her greatest strengths.

...But, I already have my first love, the beautiful idol of our school, and the award-winning author, Kachi Shirokusa! Thinking about it rationally, I should have no chances with her, but, while walking home from school, she only talks to me, with a smile even! I might actually have a chance, don't you think?!

Or so I thought, but then I heard that Shirokusa already has a boyfriend, and my life took a turn for the worse. I want to die. Why is it not me?! Even though she was my first love... As I was drowning in despair and depression, Kuroha whispered.

Nimaru launched the romantic comedy light novel—also known by its short name Osamake—through the Dengeki Bunko imprint last June, featuring illustrations by Ui Shigure. Kadokawa will ship the fifth volume on October 10 and bundle a drama CD with the sixth volume's limited edition on February 10, 2021. Osamake has a cumulative 350,000 copies of its volumes in print.

Ryou Itou began serializing a manga adaptation in Monthly Comic Alive on November 27 last year. Kadokawa is scheduled to release the second volume on February 10, 2021, which will also include a separate drama CD with its limited edition. Pre-orders for the limited edition volume will be accepted through November 10.

Also, Doga Kobo is animating this show huh? This is an insta-watch for me.

The series is still going so there is a chance for her :)

Oh yeah the modern light novel title way.

Based on the cast it's worth hearing, but the based on synopsis, it looks like a regular romcom, with a twist to live up on its title. I guess, I'm gonna check this out.

The manga adaptation is pretty bad but the LN is very popular in Japan.

Tomodachi no Imouto ga Ore ni Dake Uzai is going to be adapted for sure in the future (it's always at the top LN sales), and I hope that Otonari no Tenshi-sama and Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Motokano datta gets adapted too.

It finally seems like the light novel industry is leaving isekai genre behind, in favor of other genres such as romantic comedy and "pure" fantasy.

Anime adaptatios happening and the LN industry are two different things, which even so, anime adaptations of LN aren't the majority for isekai for ages.

Well, we have trio cast from gochiusa + 2 lead cast from sao, however minus alice

Btw, if tsugu join gochiusa cast, he will have another route to find other harem beside them (kayanon, inorin, ayaneru and onishi).

And also if kayanon join this cast, tsugu will have many route to find what happen if he dating them (including eugeo)

Strange choice. From what little of the manga I read, it didnt really go anywhere.

I'd rather they do an adaptation of "My childhood friend's sister is annoying only to me". At least that has something.

I dropped the manga like 4 chapters in because that shit sucks, I'm still gonna watch the anime though but with rock bottom expectations, I'd be surprised if it ended up half as good as Oresuki.
