TV Anime 'Yakunara Mug Cup mo' Announces Main Cast and Staff

The official website for the anime adaptation of Yakunara Mug Cup mo (Let's make a Mug Too!), the promotional manga of Gifu Prefecture's Tajimi city, revealed on Wednesday the main cast, staff, and a key visual (pictured). The project's official Twitter announced the anime in February.

Synopsis
The city of Tajimi, located in the southern part of Gifu Prefecture, Japan, is famous for Mino earthenware. The city is dotted with historical pottery producers and ceramic art museums. It has facilities where you can try your hand at making pottery, and many restaurants that serve food on Minoware dishes.

The story begins when a high school girl moves to a shopping street in Tajimi. Many encounters await her, friends, town folk, ceramic art, etc. What will she discover in a town famous for ceramic? (Source: Official Manga Website, edited)

The Yakunara Mug Cup mo project was launched in Tajimi City in 2010 to stimulate the local economy. It has been published quarterly by a team of local businesses and distributed for free since 2012, and the 32nd volume was released on May 9. Planet Co., Ltd., a Tajimi City-based IT company, is currently publishing the manga with support from the local community. All volumes are available digitally on the manga's official website.

Interesting to see that Nippon Animation will be handling this. Certainly haven't seen their name around much lately so I'm curious to see how this'll go.

So this entire anime is literally just an advertisement for the city? Huh......I mean, P.A Works sort-of did it in the past but the shows that they made didn't exist just to advertise a city. It just so happened that their show's setting boosted the tourism of the cities that were featured in their shows.

I just find it a bit odd that they choose to produce an entire 24 minute 12 episode series just for the sole purpose of advertising a city.
