Manga author Hiro Mashima announced a television anime adaptation of his Edens Zero manga on Twitter on Friday.

Synopsis
At Granbell Kingdom, an abandoned amusement park, Shiki has lived his entire life among machines. But one day, Rebecca and her cat companion Happy appear at the park's front gates. Little do these newcomers know that this is the first human contact Granbell has had in a hundred years!

As Shiki stumbles his way into making new friends, his former neighbors stir at an opportunity for a robo-rebellion... And when his old homeland becomes too dangerous, Shiki must join Rebecca and Happy on their spaceship and escape into the boundless cosmos. (Source: Kodansha Comics)

Mashima launched the adventure fantasy manga in Weekly Shounen Magazine in June 2018, nearly a year after concluding Fairy Tail. Kodansha published the ninth volume on April 17, with the tenth volume scheduled for a June 17 release.

Kodansha Comics licensed the manga in English and simultaneously publishes it with the Japanese release on Crunchyroll Manga, ComiXology, and Kindle. The eighth volume was released digitally on Tuesday, and will ship in print on August 4. The manga is also published in multiple foreign languages, including Chinese, French, Korean, and Thai.

If it was a Fairy Tail sequel it would be called Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest.

Why am I not surprised. I knew this was gonna get an anime. Its Mashima for god sake. Even though all of his characters look the same, he can come up with some good ass fantasy stories and this time its sci fi fantasy. Its almost a hybrid of Rave and Fairytail.

People already started hating on with even though it has no connection to ft besides having the same creator. Some things will never change I guess.

I'm looking forward to it though.

That's what happens when you have petty and shallow community thinking author will make same stuff over again just because art-style when business 101, making manga doesn't work like that lol.

Bandwagon Haters and trolled need to stop shit talk and actually read a series than pretend they know how it is just based on previous series or others. Feel like Black Clover when it first started and look how it evolved.

I'm sitting this one out boys. I enjoyed Fairy Tail well enough at times but I don't think I can take another series by Mashima Hiro. It could be the best series ever and I'm just missing out but it's not for me. Still excited for yall who are looking forward to it!

You never watched Fairy Tail, did you?

Look, I dont like MHA, but FT makes a average long-running-battle-shounen look like Shakespearean work.

Tbh, rather than Edens Zero or 100 years quest, i prefer Hero's to get the anime adaptation first. As it is pretty much fans wet dream to get crossover of Fairy Tail, Rave, and Edens Zero combined in one story. https://myanimelist.net/manga/122473/Mashima_Heros

Keeping aside the striking similarity in Character Designs (almost plagiarizing, if you ask me), the Synopsis definitely sounds intriguing.

I've heard there's Space involved in this too (as confirmed by cosmos), that's another hook for me.

Fairy Tail started off great but deteriorated along the way, I wonder how this'll do. No idea how things were over with Rave Master, though.

Must be amazing to plagiarize your own manga considering all of those are by Hiro Mashima.

I love Mashima-sensei's works, I love his drawing style and with this manga I've come to see things that I never thought he was going to draw, seriously his level of creativity has increased a lot.

Not surprising. I love the art, but I didn't enjoy the story or the characters enough to continue reading it. I'll give the anime a try. Perhaps I'll enjoy it more as an anime...?

Every mangaka reuse their own deisign.
Akira Toriyama does it all the time but get no hate for it.

Yall just like to use it against Hiro because of Fairy Tail.

I'm not familiar with Akira Toriyama's works, I know Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball but I haven't seen them that is, so I can't say about that but I do believe he should be notified (not assaulted by any stretch however) of this too if that's indeed the case.

I don't hate Fairy Tail at all by the way. Yes, I did find the Final Series poor but FT is still one of the pillars to my completed anime list (2nd anime after Naruto, for me) and, as such, holds a lot of nostalgia.

Art? Iconic? Avant garde? Masterpiece? There are too many terms that apply to this trend-setting, historic manga writer that I'm not quite sure which you are referring to

Some of the Character Designs, solely.

You do realise that there's an exact term for such cases in self-plagiarism, right?

not interested but hey great for the fans I guess.

Not a fan of Mashima at all, but it's good to see more space-themed anime being released. Once a popular genre that's been dying slowly over these past decades.

Ehh? I would prefer an adaptation of 100YQ first but okay

give 100 Year Quest at least 30-40 chapters more before an anime adaptation is announce

Jun 12, 2020 11:25 PM by deg

Well this series is definitely gonna be a good way to kill time. We needed something long besides beside Boruto, Black Clover and One Piece

Jun 12, 2020 11:23 PM by Fuwa_san

Ehh? I would prefer an adaptation of 100YQ first but okay, I'll give it a chance nonetheless. Just hope a decent studio makes it instead of A-1 Pictures or we'll get colored slideshows like with FT S3 :'D

I read bits and pieces of the manga, and from what I read it wasn't particularly that enjoyable. But it was interesting, I will say at most it's okay.

With that said, I'm hoping the anime can make the experience better at the very least.
