Voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto posted on his blog on Friday that he will rest for a month starting on June 1 to focus on his medical treatment. Okamoto mentioned that he has been feeling discomfort on his vocal cords intermittently for a long time. He was able to juggle work and treatment before, but his doctor advised getting a surgery based on the diagnosis that his vocal cords were scarring. His return will be announced on his agency's official website and blog.

Born in Tokyo on October 24, 1986, Okamoto took interest in voice acting from childhood anime such as Slam Dunk and Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken (TV). Okamoto began his voice acting career in 2006 on a boys' love drama CD Tsuioku no Kiss wo Kimi wa Datsu, followed by his TV anime debut as an extra in NHK ni Youkoso!. He slowly gained traction in the industry by voicing Takumi Usui in Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, Rin Okumura in Ao no Exorcist, Accelerator in Toaru Majutsu no Index, Yuu Nishinoya in Haikyuu!!, and Katsuki Bakugou in Boku no Hero Academia. This season, he is currently voicing Khun in Kami no Tou (Tower of God).

Okamoto is also skilled in shogi with a 3rd class certification and promotes as a musical artist. In 2012, Okamoto released his debut single Palette which peaked ninth on weekly Oricon charts. A year later, he released Enjoy Full and has continued releasing songs since. His latest album trust and play was released on April 4.

This March, Okamoto and fellow seiyuu Asuka Oogame (Koufuku Graffiti's Kirin Morino) revealed they had gotten married.

Damn, this is a surprise. One of my favourite male Seiyuu, as a matter of fact.

Take all the time you need and I'm looking forward to your return, Okamoto-san.
One of your favorite yet you didn't seem to know that he have vocal cords issues since years.

For those who questions if Khun's voice will change in later because of this, don't worry because the studio has finished the production of all ToG episodes

Does anyone know if the Tower of God finished recording?

I think no, hope they find another VA if his Va is ending from today. The studio might use a voice changer.

edit: But damn, Hope he gets well soon.

I would think Khun has a soft enough voice to be voiced, unless he's not allowed to talk at all before surgery. Either way, same <3

With that much screaming character he voiced, I think this is no wonder. Hope he can get back quickly

I wish him well. I wish he gets some role in ONE PIECE someday. I can hear his voice as Accelerator in my head screaming: "MUGIWARAAA~!"

I blame this entirely on that shitstain Bakugou

You do realize Bakugou is not the only character Okamoto voiced that screams a lot, right?

Well, it's not surprising. I'm watching bakuman right now and eiji is my fav character but man he screams a lot.

First 'cheating' incident, now medical treatment.
Anyway, hope he gets better soon.

Hopefully the surgery goes over well.

I wonder if this could have been prevented by natokinase or serratiopeptidase (serrapeptase). Both are known in Japan. They are enzymes that help break down scar tissue like the body's own natural enzymes. They sometimes are used much the same way as pain reliever.

Amen to that
Blame his fanbase too for liking him and horikoshi for giving him plenty of screentime.

I ended up dropping the series because the author kept giving screentime to awful characters and the fans kept falling in love with said awful characters.
