TV Anime 'Luminous Witches' Reveals Promo, Production Staff

The official website of the Renmei Kuugun Koukuu Mahou Ongakutai Luminous Witches (League of Nations Air Force Magic Aviation Band Luminous Witches) anime series posted a short special promotional video on Thursday, revealing the production staff. The television anime will debut in 2021.

Shouji Saeki (Medaka Box, Houkago no Pleiades (TV)) is both directing the anime and handling the series composition. Humikane Shimada, the original character designer for the Strike Witches franchise, is returning for the side story anime. Kadokawa is credited for the music production.

The voice actress of Grace Maitland Stewart, the Squadron Leader, is yet to be announced.

The cast members formed an idol unit last year and will release their first single—Flying Skyhigh—on May 27. Kadokawa posted a short music video for the single on March 28.

It looks good and kind of silly, it has the energy and charm of a good idol anime, but it lacks the essence of the Strike Witches franchise.

Would've considered watching this cuz SHAFT and interesting premise, but the character designs don't attract me all that much and I ain't into ecchi.
Cool to see SHAFT's still around though.
