New 'World Trigger' TV Anime Season Unveils Staff
The official website of the World Trigger television anime revealed the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured) for the new anime season on Thursday.
Morio Hatano (Dragon Ball Super, Saint Seiya Omega) is serving as the series director at Toei Animation, replacing Mitsuru Hongou and Kouji Ogawa. Returning staff include scriptwriter Hiroyuki Yoshino (Heavy Object, Shuumatsu no Izetta), character designer Toshihisa Kaiya (Honzuki no Gekokujou, Haikyuu!! chief animation director), and music composer Kenji Kawai (Mob Psycho 100, No Guns Life).
World Trigger adapts Daisuke Ashihara's sci-fi battle action manga, which began in Weekly Shounen Jump in February 2013. The manga resumed after a nearly two-year hiatus in October 2018 and moved to Jump SQ. in December that year. Shueisha shipped the 21th volume on December 4 last year.
The first television anime by Toei Animation began airing in Fall 2014. The anime was originally listed for 50 episodes, but was later extended to 73 episodes. Toei later produced an English dub with Canada-based company Ocean Production in July 2015.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in 2014 and now publishes the manga simultaneously with the Japanese release through their new Shounen Jump platform. The 19th volume shipped in October 2019, with the 20th volume scheduled for an April 7 release.

Hype it's nice to see WT getting some love from WSJ/Toei, but hopefully the anime is much better this time around. The meme pause from the first season was just bad.. Also hope they have another OP theme that's as catchy as the first OP. I remember listening to the OP for the first time and got mad hype! WT banzai!

this series has the most well crafted battle in action series. sad that the previous anime can't do it justice. hope this one do.

The story is good, and the anime has issues but it's still far from terrible.
I don't see it in your list, so if you dropped it early then maybe you should give it or the manga another chance. if not, nvm.

No, but the first one was so terrible! Don't bring it back, I think it's an issue with the story and a new director won't help.

Yeah, I dropped the first "season" it was airing and didn't plan on continuing so didn't bother to add it. I doubt I'd like the rest of the anime, but maayyybe I'll try the manga.

In the manga, it seems like the current arc is just wrapping up, that could be a good stopping point for the anime.

Nah, World Trigger is good, the problem with the anime is the pacing, if you don't like it then it's not your cup of tea, please move on

I wonder if this new season will keep the tradition from the first season by continuing to play the OP halfway through the episode xD.

Changing directors could be interesting, the first series was pretty wonky directing wise so hopefully this one can really bring out the best of the series especially since what its about to adapt is some of the best parts of the series. I just hope they dont even try to pretend this is a long runner cause with the monthly releases theres no way to prolong things without dragging things out to an absurd degree. Theres a perfect stopping point coming up with the b rank wars ending in the next few months.

World trigger may not be my favorite shounen, but it's up there. And I can say without a doubt that it has my favorite power/magic system from anything I've ever seen (even outside of manga). It just makes so much sense and it felt like I was watching a whole new sport but more interesting. I don't even know man, it's just insane.
