Eeeeh, did Tenki no Ko really have any social impact? I don't really remember that movie delving deep into social themes, except maybe that goddamn gun (which felt really shoehorned into there and didn't really affect story much).

Kaijuu no Kodomo 100% deserves this. That thing is possibly the best looking piece of media I have ever consumed.

And how am I suppose to watch/read all this? They're nowhere to be found.

Like I haven't suffered enough.

UPD
Just checked the Animation division award winners - there are some works by Russian animators. Way to go! Personally am very interested in "Lola the living potato" - the trailer seemed nice and also that cute title!

Thank you for sharing the results; lots of interesting short films to check out. I just saw Yoriko Mizushiri's work that won a Jury Recommendation. It has to be my favorite to date! You can watch it here officially on NHK's YouTube channel: Source.

Thank you for pointing this out, can't believe I missed that. I've edited it out. Also I do hope to see more of Mizushiri in the future!

This is the 1985 film, not the stop motion film which won the award. Here is the trailer for comparison: Source.
