Tsuburaya Productions unveiled a new anime titled SSSS.Dynazenon on Saturday. The announcement was made at the company's Tsuburaya Convention 2019 event at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. Pony Canyon simultaneously opened an official website, revealing a teaser visual (pictured) and an announcement promo.

Similar to the SSSS.Gridman anime series, "Gridman" is credited as the original work for SSSS.Dynazenon and will be produced by animation studio Trigger.

Production staff returning from the former series include director Akira Amemiya, scriptwriter Keiichi Hasegawa, character designer Masaru Sakamoto, and music composer Shirou Sagisu.

SSSS.Gridman—a collaboration between Tsuburaya Productions and Trigger—aired in 12 episodes in Fall 2018. The television anime was based on the 1993–1994 Denkou Choujin Gridman (Gridman the Hyper Agent) tokusatsu series.

Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles and Funimation streamed an English dub. The latter also licensed the series for home video release in North America and will release it on Blu-ray and DVD on January 28, 2020.

I know Trigger would try to squeeze this franchise more (with a different name, but it will probably be almost the same) and by squeezing I mean selling more merchandise of 2 waifus that are the only reason people remember this, history and fights are fillers. I'm sure people don't even remember who the real protagonist.

Yuta. The girls were nice perks but the story and direction were also phenomenal. I’m interested to see a different story within the same universe. Stop being such a Cynical Cindy.

While I haven't finished Gridman, didn't the show ended or concluded based on its finale? It wouldn't make sense to bring the cast back to this installment.

Why does the ending song kind of sound like it was produced for Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver? it's kind of got that muffled sound.

So will this have an entirely new cast, because while the PV had the og cast, it was all reused clips, and the only connection to the first series title wise is all the Ss, and the mech is different as well.

Excited for this, anime like this are rarely made nowadays. Happy it isn't a direct sequel to Gridman.

Well, as long Dynazenon have a good story, I am no problem if Akane and Rikka are didn't appeared in Dynazenon series because I prefer a good story than returning characters.

Rikka and Akane made Gridman so popular in Japan though so its gonna be a waste if they at least do not show up as clones or alternative versions on this new show

Well in this case more like Trigger's line up
But seems like they will use the design of Dyna Dragon from Gridman the HyperAgent /Super Samurai Syber Squad. Judged by visual teaser

Right, it’ll be interesting to see what this’ll all be about.

Are you referring to the tokatsu series timeline by any chance? Or Trigger's lineup?

Obviously looking forward to this! Really glad that Trigger is keeping up with this SSSS.Project Universe.

SSSS. Gridman was a blast to keep up with so here's to hoping this will just as intriguing to watch, if not better. Looking forward to this dominating Twitter as well!

Pretty cool Announcement Video too, the recap for one thing felt really nostalgic.

Maybe it's just me but the song at the end of the trailer felt like a definite nod to Evangelion decisive battle.
