Additional Staff, Cast Announced for Fifth 'Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki' Season

The official website of the fifth Tenchi Muyou! Ryououki original video anime season revealed additional staff, cast, and a new key visual (pictured) on Friday.

Staff
Director: Keitarou Motonaga (Digimon Adventure tri., Date A Live)
Character Design, Chief Animation Director: Sayuri Sakimoto (Pastel Memories sub-character design, Black Clover)
Art Director, Art Setting: Miu Miyamoto (Kyochuu Rettou, Candy Boy)
Color Setting: Takuya Kawami (Tenchi Muyou! in Love 2: Haruka Naru Omoi)
Sound Production: Pony Canyon Enterprise
Production Cooperation: A-Line

Kawami previously served as a color designer in the original 1992 video anime. The additional cast, reprising from the earlier Tenchi Muyou! installments, are as follows:

Nobuyuki Masaki: Katsuyuki Konishi (Dorei-ku The Animation)
Rea Masaki: Rio Natsuki (Carnival Phantasm)
Tennyo Masaki: Emi Shinohara (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon)
Tokimi: Yumi Touma (Eikoku Koi Monogatari Emma)
Kiriko Masaki: Kumi Sakuma (I''s)
Karen: Shiho Kawaragi (Kaibutsu Oujo)

The creator and original character designer of the franchise, Masaki Kajishima, is reprising as the chief director at animation studio AIC. Hideki Shirane is also returning as the scriptwriter and series composer.

Well for one thing, this isn't a spin-off. This is the 4th sequel to the original main series OVAs.

As for does it sell? I guess so since OVA 4 had to have sold well for them to start work on OVA 5.

I don’t even know lol. I walked past this series, although I love the old school of anime romance and I was pretty surprised to find out that this franchise actually consists of two 20+ seasons and a whole bunch of OVA.

The last OVA sucked badly and this will be no different. When Tenchi moves from being a comedy/harem/action hero into being a series of dialogues and meetings between middle aged women, many of whom were never introduced in the plot proper outside of the novels, it became a joke.
