'Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi' Unveils Cast, Staff for January 2020

The official website of Majutsushi Orphen Hagure Tabi (Sorcerous Stabber Orphen), the new television anime adapting Yoshinobu Akita's adventure fantasy light novel, unveiled the cast, staff, and a second promotional video on Friday. The anime series, which was originally slated for this year, is now scheduled for a January 2020 broadcast.

Shoutarou Morikubo (Persona 4 the Animation) is reprising his role as the protagonist Orphen from the original anime series.

Fujimi Shobo published the original novel in 20 volumes between 1994 and 2003, featuring illustrations by Yuuya Kusaka. Akita also penned a 13-volume side story novel titled Majutsushi Orphen: Mubou-hen alongside the main series from 1996 to 2003. Kadokawa published the two-volume Majutsushi Orphen: Mawari Michi short story in 1997-1998.

TO Books published a ten-volume sequel novel series between 2011 and 2015. The company has since reprinted the original novel and the Mubou-hen side story novel in ten and seven volumes, respectively. Akita launched a prequel novel on January 19, the second volume of which went on sale on April 1 (pictured).

Hajime Sawada serialized the first manga adaptation in Monthly Dragon Junior between 1997 and 2001. The second part ran in the same magazine from 2002-2003.

Illustrator Muraji drew a new three-part manga adaptation on Famitsu's Comic Clear website between 2016 and 2018. Kadokawa published the manga in five compiled volumes.

I'm crying. I've been waiting for years for this remake and even when is schedule for next years, I'm crying for the new trailer, it's look beautiful. And I'm so glad that (at least) Orphen have the same seiyuu that the old series.

I wasn’t particularly looking forward to this to be frankly honest but it’s good to know that they’re taking a bit more time to hopefully improve things.

On another note, this Fall Season is already packed so I might’ve opted to miss out in this anyway.
