Studio Nut Produces 'Deca-Dence' Original TV Anime

Kadokawa launched an official website for an original sci-fi anime series titled Deca-Dence on Friday. The website revealed the first promotional video, a teaser visual (pictured), and the main staff members.

Yuzuru Tachikawa, known for directing Death Parade and both seasons of Mob Psycho 100, is helming the series at animation studio Nut. Hiroshi Seko (Ajin, Inuyashiki) is writing the script.

Shinichi Kurita (Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou) is designing the characters based on illustrator pomodorosa's character concept designs. Masahiro Tokuda (Juushinki Pandora) is composing the music.

Studio Nut produced its first anime project Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil) in 2017—an adaptation of Carlo Zen's fantasy military light novel of the same title. The studio also collaborated with Production I.G and Revoroot on FLCL Alternative last year.

They worked on FLCL with Production IG and Revoorot in 2018 though.

Sounds great! Studio NUT is now making its move to produce more anime. I wish it would be more promising like Youjo Senki.

This has incredible Bounen no Xamdou vibes. From the Steampunk feel, to the almost Ghibli-Bones esque animation, I'm especting great things from this.

Idk about Ajin but Inuyashiki was GREAT.

So imo, we have a great director AND great script writer.

I like it! The setting reminds me of mortal engines (Which was trash btw) I hope this show is way more successful.

Damn, 2020 might have the best year in Anime!!!! Great Pretender, Akira, Tensura 2nd Season, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Attack On Titan Final Season and this!!!! That PV making me NUT, this reminds me of the whole FLCL series and Made In Abyss. I'm looking forward to this....

Indeed. Many great original anime came from their funding/production and in just this week they announced 3, counting with this.

Oh, this looks good! I saw this announcement on Twitter an hour or two back but didn’t pay much attention to it, but I’m definitely keen to check it out now. Great Director and Character Designer, hopefully the other Departments will deliver too!
