Winners of 23rd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Announced

The winners of the 23rd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize have been announced. 11 nominees were chosen from volumes published last year with votes and recommendations from bookstore staff and manga officials. The presentation ceremony will be held on June 6 at Hamarikyuu Asahi Small Hall at Tsukiji, Tokyo.

Grand Prize: Sono Onna, Jitterbug (Shinobu Arima)
New Work Prize: Areyo Hoshikuzu (Sansuke Yamada)
Short Work Prize: Seiri-chan (Ken Koyama)
Special Prize: Takao Saitou (For his contributions to manga culture. His manga Golgo 13 reached 50 years of serialization)

Instituted in 1997, Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize is an annual manga prize awarded to mangaka or their works that follow the Osamu Tezuka manga approach.
