'Dragon Quest: Your Story' Announces Cast Members

The official website for Dragon Quest: Your Story announced cast members and revealed a trailer. The film will premiere in theaters in Japan on August 2.

Cast
Ryuka: Takeru Satou (Rurouni Kenshin live-action)
Bianca: Kasumi Arimura (Omoide no Marnie)
Flora: Haru (Young Black Jack live-action)
Prince Henry: Kentarou Sakaguchi (Chiisana Eiyuu: Kani to Tamago to Toumei Ningen)
Papas: Takayuki Yamada (Neko no Ongaeshi)

Cast members whose roles have yet to be announced include: Kendou Kobayashi (Gantz:O), Ken Yasuda (Gintama live-action), Arata Furuta (Shinya! Tensai Bakabon), Suzuki Matsuo (Shin Godzilla live-action), Kouichi Yamadera (Cowboy Bebop), Arata Iura (Kimi ni Todoke live-action), Chikako Kaku (Wagahai no Heya de Aru live-action), and Koutarou Yoshida (Assassination Classroom live-action)

Dragon Quest: Your Story is the first 3DCG anime film in the franchise and is based on the 1992 Super Famicom game Dragon Quest V: Tenkuu no Hanayome. Ryuuichi Yagi and Makoto Hanafusa (Stand By Me Doraemon) are in charge of directing.

Looks good

But I would prefer if they make remake and full adaptation for Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken. As someone who read the manga, I say this one has much better story and character development than any of dragon quest games

The visuals look phenomenal! Looks like a Japanese version of How to Train Your Dragon.

Fanservice or not, I'll probably watch this since I'm a longtime fan of the series.

Mah childhood right there. Played 3 of them, but Dragon Quest 8 was the best for me. Gotta watch this, asap.

The trailer does look gorgeous but the protagonist's character design somehow really piss me off! oh well, reminds me of some random disney cartoons so probably they will tone down the dark elements. Why didn't they used original's character show?! Even DQ11 any npc characters looks better than this. Shame now this is unwatchable for me :\ I really hope inevitable future DQ anime version does not suffer this same weird issue.

I love Dragon Quest so much! The series was my main reason for getting into anime in the first place; the games are truly remarkable.

Really happy to see it's continuing to get the love it deserves & can't wait to watch this. Anyone who hasn't played the games absolutely should. I hear the anime series is also amazing, although it is quite old now.
