'Mob Psycho 100' Anime Series Announces New OVA Episode

The 13th and final episode of the second season of Mob Psycho 100 ended with an announcement on Monday that the anime series is receiving a completely new original video animation. The original creator of the series, ONE, will provide the concept for the new episode. Yuzuru Tachikawa is reprising his role as the director for the episode at Bones.

The "Mob Psycho 100 II Psycho Helmet-kyou no Tsudoi Special 2019 Natsu" event will hold an advance screening for the episode on July 7. The second season's first two Blu-ray and DVD volumes, shipping on April 3 and 24, will bundle applications to enter advance tickets lotteries for the event. Cast members Setsuo Itou, Takahiro Sakurai, and Takanori Hoshino, as well as theme song performers, sajou no hana, will make an appearance at the event.

Mob Psycho 100 adapts ONE's supernatural comedy manga of the same title, which ran in Ura Sunday between April 2012 and December 2017. Shogakukan published the 16th and last volume last July. The manga has over 1.2 million copies of its compiled volumes in print.

The first anime season aired in Summer 2016 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll. The one-hour Mob Psycho 100: Reigen - Shirarezaru Kiseki no Reinouryokusha special, summarizing the first season and featuring commentaries by Reigen Arataka (CV: Takahiro Sakurai), debuted on March 18. The second season began airing this past January.

Funimation licensed the anime series in North America and shipped the first season in December 2017. Dark Horse Comics licensed the manga in English last April and will publish the second volume on Tuesday.

Well, big if true. I thought the chapter count on MAL (109) included all of those chapters-within-chapters. Still, I don't think that there are 45 full chapters (an average of what was used for the last two season) left between chapter 92 and 109. They will have to put a lot of filler to pad things out.

I'm not so sure about that. There are quite a bit of chapters left. And even if there isn't enough, they could adapt some of the omakes as well to make up the episode count.

lol at the "third season" posters. The manga is over, boys. I think there are only some nine chapters or so left unadapted, and an OVA like this is enough to cover all of them.

Yeeaaaahhhhhhh.... Macross is garbage. Terrible pacing, awkward character development and poor characterization and in general terrible writing based on an idiotic idol concept.

What a classic. (Though for it to be a classic it should be at least popular lol, it's niche as fuck compared to a lot of other things around it's time).
