The official website for the performance girls unit 9nine has announced on Wednesday that the group will be entering indefinite hiatus.

Forming in September 2005, the group originally consisted of nine girls who passed the audition via their agency Lespros Entertainment inc., (thus the group's name is nine even though the members consists of less than nine girls). Since the debut on February 2006, they experienced changes on the members including the final leaving member Umika Kawashima who joined in 2007 and left on July 2016 as well as switching recording companies, the group has been active both as group and solo for 14 years and self-claimed one of the longest female group with four current members. The message on the official website mentioned that the group is actually doing well, but after serious discussion about not having changes made that affects their future they have decided to pause their group activity and concentrate on expending their solo activities. Their final live before entering hiatus will be on April 6.

9nine has performed several anime theme songs, such as Star Driver series theme songs, Beelzebub ending theme song, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic ending theme song, The Reflection ending theme song, the recent Ken En Ken: Aoki Kagayaki ending theme song, and more. All four members of the group even tried voice acting in The Reflection TV anime.

Indefinite hiatus, basically "unofficially disbanded."

I only know the group because (Perfume's) A~chan's sister is in it. Lol
