TV Anime Adaptation of 'Nekopara' in Production
The Neko Works booth at the Comiket 95 event announced on Saturday that a TV anime adaptation of its Nekopara visual novel series is in progress.
Neko Works developed the first Nekopara game in December 2014 and has since released four more games in the series, including sequels and prequels. Sekai Project published the games in English on the Steam platform simultaneously with the Japanese release. The visual novel series has sold over 2 million copies.
Sekai Project launched a Kickstarter campaign for an original video animation based on Nekopara in December 2016 and met its initial goal of US$100,000 for a 20-minute episode within an hour. The company promptly announced that an extra 10 minutes will be added to the episode for every additional US$100,000 to a maximum duration of an hour for US$500,000. The campaign ended in February 2017 with over US$900,000, but was extended to reach the final stretch goal of US$1 million for a short anime adaptation of the Nekopara Extra prequel visual novel. Sekai Project formally concluded the campaign after it exceeded US$1.04 million in March 2017.
The one-hour original video animation debuted on the Steam platform last December and was screened at the Akihabara UDX theater earlier this year on January 1. The short anime adaptation of the prequel was released alongside the visual novel on July 27.
A manga adaptation by Tam-U was serialized in Dengeki G's Comic magazine between May 30 and November 30 this year. Kadokawa will publish the single volume on January 10, 2019.

I love that Nekopara is getting a TV anime, and find it fascinating they might be able to take an 18+ game, and adapt it into a more wholesome anime. I would be perfectly satisfied if they modeled the show after the Quinessential Quintuplets. Sprinkle fan service here and there, but make Kashou want to understand and get to know each Neko sister. Because he goes out of his way for them, they start to grow affection for him. You could even have the moral dilemma being is it okay for a human to marry a cat? And if so, the studio could really take it in any direction they wanted. I'm certainly excited for this.

Damn right.
Its an instant 10 and people who dare say otherwise shouldnt even be allowed to exist on this timeline.
Also people who complain about the anime removing the porn: I didnt even knew the VN had 18+ content unless i was halfway trough the second one and even then i had Nekopara in a pedestal.
I truly cant give a damn about adult content i wanna see animated catgirls, hear "nya", "gojushin sama" and fluffy tails.
This guy, this guy right here. There's so much more potential to it than catgirl sex and I'm happy they're finally tapping into it. I played the games for the wholesome slice of life elements and was honestly quite turned off by the H scenes. But this, this is exactly what I've been looking for.

Also will admit I would really love to see what company would get the rights to it and who they'd get to voice who.
Either way I am so happy and pretty damn excited to see that this is happening.

To be honest I don't think the anime will have hentai in it at least as long as it's airing on a slot where it doesn't allow that (unless we are talking about AT-X). And to be fair, I'm probably the only person that enjoys it for the comedy and SoL elements. Nothing against the hentai that was over there, then again I read this when I was kinda innocent at the time so... yeah.
No, you're not alone. I didn't even care about the h-scenes, really. It's a nice SoL without them.
The TV anime will probably be cool, there's finally a chance to make a proper VN adaptation with them not trying to cram tens of hours in 12 episodes.
That's true, and besides the VN is a pure Slice of Life if we take the H-Scenes out of the equation. So they can do a proper adaptation without losing major plot points because the VN doesn't have a lot of those. It's pretty tame and it can be easily adapted into anime form.
