The official website for the Senki Zesshou Symphogear franchise has announced on Monday that the broadcast of Senki Zesshou Symphogear XV TV anime will be postponed to Summer 2019. The reason is not given. It was announced during the two-day Symphogear Live 2018 in March, along with the official title, that the fifth season was slated for Spring 2019.

Produced by Satelight, the first Senki Zesshou Symphogear TV series began airing in 2012. It received three more sequels that already aired in 2013, 2015, and 2017. The fifth season is planned for next year.

That name is bonkers and one of the more nonsensical word salad titles not for an LN or LN adaptation.

Do you thing the name is ridiculous enough or not?

Keep in mind though, the every two summers pattern is clearly working in terms of per volume disc sales. Here's the facts:
* Season 1 - Winter 2012: 5,045 average per volume
* Symphogear G - Summer 2013: 8,701 average per volume
* Symphogear GX - Summer 2015: 14,229 average per volume (best selling anime of Summer 2015, and the tenth best selling anime for all of 2015)
* Symphogear AXZ - Summer 2017: 14,792 average per volume (second best selling anime of Summer 2017, and the sixth best selling anime for all of 2017)

Clearly this is Symphogear 15, not Symphogear 5.

Wait, what?

Really, that explanes why episode 1 felt like nothing special happen till episode 2 and 3.
Season 1 was a really troublesome production. A lot of the issues and animation hiccups (that Tsubasa walk) stem from the fact, that Studio Encourage Films, the co-producing studio, coudln't handle the workload and bailed out as early as episode 3 leaving Satelight doing the rest of the show by themselves. In the Key Animation books the staff talks about how they lacked manpower such as not enough production assistants, because Satelight was producing Aquarion Evol, AKB and Mouretsu alongside Symphogear. They consider it a miracle that Season 1 even got finished. Sadly, Season 2 wasn't that much of a improvement in that regard, mostly due to the Mouretsu Movie. After S2E10 got finished, the staff didn't leave the studio till the production wrapped up. At one point, Action Animator Fumiaki Kouta was so tired that he fell asleep on his desk while still holding a pencil in his hand. These folks are really passionate about Symphogear, but they certainly don't want a repeat of that.

That's explanes all the lackluster animation since Season 1 was just their first instalment in the francise. Like I'd forgotten this series right after one episode if G hadn't made every mistake 2012 had.

I hope it can improve from Senki Zesshou Symphogear AXZ.Since the last 3 episode felt rushed and Ono did got overworked on ARC-V Third Season season is still one of my favorites from the franchise while the first season was also fairly entertaining. I'd say 4th one was the best in terms of content, but rather not my favorite season. I wanna see Season 6 and 7 and possible 8 in the near future. Hope Ono can find time to work on Yu-Gi-Oh 7th aswell. And let's just me honest. ONO IS THE PEFECT DIRECTOR FOR THIS JOB.

Well, Satelight is quite notorious for having really bad schedules. I remember, that they finished the first episode of the first Symphogear season just 30 minutes before it's airing. So yeah, delaying it is probably for the best.

The last season felt really rushed toward the end as well….I hope this series goes out with a bang and not a budget whimper.

I can bear the wait for the return of my fighting divas. The Symphogear series has been so good after season 1, and I hope the upcoming sequel will deliver once again with great quality content!

Except that Satelight didn't even work primarily on S1 when it began airing. AFAIK, the studio who made S1 went bankrupt in the middle of broadcasting and Satelight picked them up to finish S1 and made the succeeding seasons. I'm sure I glossed over a lot, but that explanation should be good enough.
