The official website of the Ikkitousen franchise has annonced that a new anime is in production. Titled Ikkitousen: Western Wolves, it will be sequel to the Extravagenza Epoch OVAs released in 2014. Most of main female cast members will reprise their roles, with Ami Koshimizu (Code Geass series) joining the cast as Musashino Shinmen. The official website will reveal more information at a later date.

Staff
Chief Director: Takashi Watanabe (Senran Kagura)
Director: Mitsutoshi Satou (Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara assistant director)
Series Composition: Masaya Honda (Soul Buster)
Character Design: Rinshin (Queen's Blade)
Studio: Arms
Production: Genco

Ikkitousen is based on the manga by Yuji Shiozaki, which began in Comic Gum magazine in April 2000, and later moved to its official website due to the magazine's suspension in May 2015. The manga ended in August 2015 with 24 volumes. J.C. Staff produced the first TV anime adaptation in Summer 2003. Studio Arms then animated two sequels in Winter 2007 and Summer 2008, with TNK joining Arms for the Spring 2010 season. Three standalone OVAs were released afterwards in November 2011 and December 2014.

The sequel manga, Shin Ikkitousen, has been serialized in Young King OURs magazine since November 2015. Shounen Gahousha published the third compiled volume on April 23. A spin-off manga, Shin Ikkitousen Gaiden, is also being serialized in Young King Bull magazine.

Good news it's nice to see the Ikkitousen anime is still ongoing, though from my understanding there isn't alot of material for Shin so i'm wondering if this is a short series or OVA, good news all the same though.

Yes! Yes! Yes! It's alive.

Well, I hope it lasts a little longer than Extravaganza Epoch. But it's great.

Shin Ikkitousen story confirmed?

God. I get total the nostalgic alert...xD It's like phoenix of the ashe rise, finally I can Hakufu and others with their beloved cast see and hear (I do hope it, that the original cast return, otherwise I'd be huge dissapointed...>.<!!!).

Ahh, how wonderful that some franchases of your youth time, where you loved and still loving, still alive!!! Just...

I'd very love if even Tenjou Tenge and Air Gear their fucked deserved sequel get would, it has been ages since at that time!

This is great news. It's been so long. I thought this show was dead.

So weird that this is still going, the first season was the best, the rest felt like one big filler, well mb that's just not the point for watching this, but still. I guess it still has its audience.

Wow, this franchise is somehow still alive. I remember it years ago but at this rate, it'll probably just be more and more OVA episodes in the future.

Hopefully the newer season will be better than the recent seasons, at least quality of first season.

Need me some more Hakafu Sonsaku, Housen Ryofu, Unchou Kan'u, Myousai Kakouen, and Shimei Ryomou

dude, as much as I like this anime, since I love the first season, I have to say that this fucking thing is that neither "to love-ru" is bad, but there is always a new season. The first season is super cool, kind of bad, but cool, the other seasons are horrible, boring, confusing, and the design has already changed about 2 or 3 times, I do not know, dude, for me, just in the first season. The rest is annoying, I tortured myself to see the latest release of "Xtreme Xecutor". I really hope this season is not shit like the previous ones, except for the first one that is really fun

Lucky me. I'm about to start this series next anyway.

I read on ANN that it'll be an adaptation on Shin Ikkitousen. Well, I can handle both. The saviour of anime cames again.

Good news

Extravaganza Epoch did not have full ending. So I am happy that they will finish it.

Yeah I don't like this series at all that much... so, I'm most likely going to skip it. xsx
