'Re:Zero kara Hajimaru Isekai Seikatsu' Anime Series Gets Another OVA

During the Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu: Memory Snow OVA pre-screening event on Sunday, it was announced that Re:Zero franchise will get another OVA. It will adapt the prequel novel "Hyouketsu no Kizuna" which was included in first Blu-ray and DVD volume of the TV series. The episode will revolve around Emilia and her meeting with Pack during the journey to Roswaal Mansion to be a candidate for the royal election.

Re:Zero kara Hajimaru Isekai Seikatsu is based on the light novel series by Tappei Nagatsuki with illustrations by Shinichirou Ootsuka. The 16th volume was released this June. It has also been announced that the Memory Snow OVA will get a light novel adaptation titled "Another Memory Snow," and will be distributed on the first week of the premiere.

Not sure about you but if the OVA is meant to offer more information about the characters instead of a silly beach or bath-house trip, I don't see how it ruins the vibe of the original show.

The first OVA for Re:Zero hasn't been aired though. It will be released in theaters in Japan on Oct 6th, 2018. This looks good for a potential season 2 announcement, as the OVAs are coming up 2 years after the anime ended.

Normally they are bundled in the dvd/bd discs soon after the anime.

Totally agreeing with you and it really could be a potential announcement for a second season (Especially because I have heard somewhere somehow that there might be a second season)

I wish it was viable for popular anime to just receive a second season. I don't like OVAs and spin-offs, they really ruin the vibe of the original show.

I probably won't be watching this—I haven't watched the previous one either.

Another anouncement from Re Zero from pre screening... as a RE ZERO FAN its a good news, atleast there will be another episode atleast but i hope after the airing of the 1st OVa- they will announce the most awaiting news- Season 2. Hahaha...that one will be great..

I’m already pumped! Can’t wait for Memory Snow as well as this! Hopefully a second season will be announced soon, but i don’t see that happening before Memory Snow coming out, but there’s always a possibility

I'm in, can't wait for more Emilia. While I wish there was a season 2 announcement, the novels are getting consistently released in America, and I love seeing more of the characters in this series. This is a great concept for an OVA that should be explored. I also think their probably responding to the complaints about Emilia's lack-of-screen-time in the second half a season 1, which is an admirable decision.

Hmm, seems like a prequel.
Meeting of Pack and Emilia? Now that's some important stuff. I guess it will also revolve around how Petelgeuse became "NOU GA FURUERU"
Plus, with another OVA the chance of a S2 heightens. The show is sure getting revived again. But that's okay, i love Re:Zero.
