Manga 'High Score Girl' Ends

The ninth volume of Big Gangan magazine has announced on Saturday that Rensuke Oshikiri's High Score Girl will end its serialization in tenth volume of the magazine, releasing on September 25.

High Score Girl has been serializing via Big Gangan magazine since October 2010. The ninth and latest compiled volume was released on June 25, with first five volumes reprinted in July 2016 under the title High Score Girl Continue. The manga went on hiatus because it received copyright violation charges by game developer SNK Playmore for using characters from video game series, such as King of Fighters, Samurai Showdown, and other games without proper permission in August 2014. The series resumed serialization in July 2016. Even though the anime adaptation was announced back in December 2013, it began broadcast on July 14.

I think Ciel Scans were the only ones scanlating it, but unfortunately they lost their main translator and hence the project was stopped at chapter 49. Which chapter was uploaded? 50?

Maybe after anime there could be renewed interest in it and someone else picks it up, you never know. All we can do is hope.

49... I see... so that was the last chapter pre-scanlation's hiatus. I hope someone translates the 3 remaining volumes...

I just hope for a fulfilling ending, the cliffhanger in chapter 62 was rather bitter and unnecessary

Not really funded by Square Enix but published since SE is a publisher of many manga magazines and therefore, manga. But yeah, it was this manga.

I doubt it'll happen now that the manga ended. If many of those adaptations don't get second or third seasons when the manga is active, a manga that ended is really unlikely.

Well, let's hope so. I like the main girls and the dynamics of their relationship with the MC, so I'm interested in the end of this story.

They should now completely adapt the manga, i mean like 24 episodes should be enough.
Translator have already dropped the series, we may never be able to know the series end. Anime is now my only hope.
