'Monster Strike' Announces Cast for New Movie
The Monster Strike anime series launched a teaser website for a new movie on May 31. Titled Sora no Kanata, the movie will premiere in Japanese theaters on October 5. Yesterday, the cast members were announced with a new key visual (pictured) and a trailer.
Synopsis
13 years ago, a part of Tokyo began to float and the city was split in two. The floating piece became "Old Tokyo" while the one on land was labelled "New Tokyo." Many years have passed since the occurrence, and both parts of the city still cannot communicate or interact with each other. One day, a girl realizes Old Tokyo will soon fall, and in order to stop this, she decides to contact New Tokyo to warn them.

Developed by mixi, Monster Strike is a smartphone game that launched in September 2013. An English version was released by XFLAG in 2014, but the service was terminated in August 2017. The first 52-episode web anime debuted in October 2015. An anime film titled Monster Strike The Movie: Hajimari no Basho e then premiered in December 2016. Following that, the second season premiered in two parts: 24 episodes in April 2017 and another 13 episodes in October 2017. Between them, a six-episode spin-off also streamed in June 2017.
