Manga 'Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin' Receives TV Anime [Update 7/6]

Editors of the Comic Newtype web manga platform announced on June 21 that the supernatural fantasy manga series Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin (Midnight Occult Civil Servants) will be adapted into a TV anime series. The announcement was made ahead of the June 23 release of the manga's 8th volume (pictured).

Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin is drawn by Youko Tamotsu and began serialization in the July 2015 issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Asuka magazine. The series was last printed in the magazine's September 2016 issue before switching to a digital serialization in Comic Newtype. Its compiled volumes are published under the Asuka Comics DX imprint.

Synopsis
Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin is a modern times fantasy story that plays at the nightly local interchange section, a ward office installed to solve occult happenings. Shin Miyako is a newcomer at the section who understands nonhuman words, which humans usually don't. The story begins when one youkai calls him by the name of the famous onmyouji Abe no Seimei. Update July 6
The official teaser website has launched announced staff members as well as PV. Jun Fukuyama (Persona 5 the Animation) will voice the main character Shin Miyako. The anime is slated for 2019.
