The official website of BanG Dream! media franchise announced that Roselia band member Satomi Akesaka will be retiring from her singing activities due to sudden hearing loss. Her doctor has advised her that musical activities requiring continuous live rehearsals would be difficult. Akesaka will be graduating from the franchise's five member all-girl band at the "Roselia Fan Meeting 2018" event held on September 17 at Culttz Kawasaki. In the future, her voice cast for the role of Rinko Shirokana and the game "BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!" will be replaced. The new member will be announced once it has been decided. Akesaka is the second Roselia member to retire following Yurika Endou.

Meanwhile, Akesaka will continue pursuing her career in voice acting, assuring her fans that she will not overdo it and will act while consulting her condition. Her most recent role was Maria Inomata from Gakuen Babysitters and she was notable for her role as Esdeath from Akame ga Kill!.
