World Premiere of 'GunSmith Cats' Reboot Anime Short Announced
Revolving around young women fighting off crime in Chicago, the OVA helmed by Takeshi Mori under studio OLM consisted of three episodes following an original story. The first manga series was serialized in Kodansha's monthly Afternoon magazine from December 1990 to April 1997 for eight compiled manga volumes. It was then followed by a five-volume series titled GunSmith Cats Burst, which was also serialized in the same magazine from 2004 to 2008.
ADV Films has licensed the anime for North American VHS release in 1996, followed by a DVD format five years after. In December last year, it has been announced that a Blu-ray format for the OVA is planned to be released by AnimeEigo under a crowdfunding campaign. Additionally, both manga series were licensed in English by Dark Horse Comics from 1996 to 2002 and 2007 to 2010. The manga had another release in omnibus format in 2007.

This is quite interesting.
I'll definitely check it out, that is, as long as the short features Sonoda's character designs.

@Cnon @ItsXolo @MrAwesome2018 Kenichi Sonoda himself is talking about possibly making this into a whole movie and/or anime series if he's able.
This will basically be a completely new spinoff that merges the Gunsmith Cats and Riding Bean universes together into a new one and set in modern times. There's already some awesome sketches:
and a short animation thrown together on the kickstarter page itself. The kickstarter is almost at it's goal, about 80% done with 24 days to go, and I just pledged $100 so I hope it succeeds.
I just watched the preview, and it's way too modern looking for my taste.
Also, I don't care for Gunsmith Cats. I won't be supporting this.

Are there any rumours this could happen?
No. Haven't heard of anything that hints that Dirty Pair will come back. I'd love it if it did. Maybe Sunrise won't want to do it because of how much animation they're going to have to do for all the crazy horseballs they cause. ^_^

and idr the last thing Yamauchi Noriyasu, my personal god, worked on
he was interviewed last year, but unfortunately nothing was said about any new anime projects
those 2 are the greatest anime creating pair to ever exist, they have the same fetishes i do lol
Same here. ;)
Do you know why Nijishima didn't work on Zero, maybe he was busy with another anime at the time?
oh shit, you have the same fetish for that stuff? AIKa is like.. the hottest thing ever xD
the first 4 episode of Najica were hot af too, but after that it wasn't quite as sexy, although still great
yea, thats why i mentioned Yamauchi Noriyasu since hes the face of those fetishes
i'd love an anime based on the Tobimono Museum, that'd be so fucking fap
seriously, we can't have these classic badass female anime coming back and not AIKa.. that is heresy.. nothing beats an action anime where the bad guys and henchmen are all hot girls

My bad heh.
Yeah, I meant a new anime between Zero and Aika.
Agreed, Kajishima needs to get back in the spotlight as director, hasn't directed anything in a long while. Last thing he worked on was on High School Fleet storyboards for ep 8 and 12.

uh.. wouldn't that be another AIKa anime lol?
i didn't say it had to be after the original lol.. between Zero and Agent AIKA is perfect
anyway, if any older anime needs to come back, i'd do anything for a new AIKa.. my penis can never the world can never have enough AIKa

So Riding Bean is getting an adaptation too. Great.
