At a Dengeki Game Festival stage event held today, it was announced that the Strike the Blood light novel series will get a third OVA release. It will cover until the end of Seisen-hen. More information will be announced at a later date.
Strike the Blood is written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by Manyako. It was serialized in the Dengeki Bunko magazine under ASCII Media Works with 18 volumes in print. The novel continues with an extra edition under the subtitle APPEND which began releasing since January this year. Its second volume is slated to release on April 10. It has also received a manga adaptation that was published in Dengeki Daioh magazine between 2012 and 2016. The series spawned a 24-episode TV anime adaptation by studio Silver Link. and Connect. An original side-story OVA was released in 2015, followed by an eight-episode second OVA series released from November 2016 to May last year.
Yen Press has been publishing the novel and manga in English since 2015. The eighth light novel volume was recently shipped on January 30, while the ninth manga volume was released last December.

Can somebody say how many volumes they covered the first 2 seasons, please?
And how many are left to adapt?
First season covered the first 6 volumes and second season covered Vol 9, 11 and 12. The LN is currently at Vol 18 and third season is said to cover up to Vol 17. Although some volumes will probably be skipped like second season did with Vol 7, 8 and 10.
Da fu...are those volumes skipped all irrelevant side stories or something?
Because, if not, skipping all that is not going to alter/confuse the main plot of the anime?
No new chars/powers got introduced in V7, 8 and 10, like, at all? No relevant plot happenings in them?

Can't understand the complaints about it being an OVA. Previous one had 8 high quality episodes. That's not really worse than tv series new season.
