Well the director was... shocking. I guess.

This person has no involvement in the industry at all but this will be interesting though.

It's not exactly the staff I imagined and I'm not really sure why they picked that director, but I still have a tiny bit of hope for one of my favorite manga.

Well... The director is a nobody in the industry AND it'll be his first directorial work ever. And the chara designer is also pretty inexperienced and has only designed moe characters so far. Even the studio branch is quite recent and has only done mediocre stuff.
Not very confident about this production staff, but I guess it makes sense since few people are even aware that this series is even a thing.

Let's hope for a nice surprise then. At least, since they cited two VAs for the MCs, they'll probably breeze through the kid part, although I hope they don't rush it under the pretense that the movie exists.

Well, thats definitly not the staff i expected to see.
Also, RIP @alpha_shadow theory about Watanabe

There's plenty of chapters they can work with this so 2-cour is easily possible.

Specially since its NHK, its almost a given that its going to be at least 2-cour

Now I'm more excited about whatever Bones and Shinichiro Watanabe are up to, since it's most likely gonna be an original project about music.

Hopefully we get 50-75 episodes. It doesn't matter if the 25 episode chunks are split up or not, it would be nice for this to get an adaptation that respects the source material.

Gainax? Haven't heard that name for a while. Are they back? Otherwise, not sure how I feel about inexperienced staff taking on what could be a huge project.

An anime about classical music is always a reason to get hyped, especially since the source looks great. The staff might be a wild card, but I have still high hopes.

well i cant tell anything from the staff, just pls dont mess up one of my fav manga

Yo... S U W A B E as Ajino, this is a blessing!
Hanae Natsuki as a Amamiya is suitable for him lmao, I can already feel my eye twitching.

Not sure how I feel about the studio and such.
This is a series that could benefit with a little bit of rushing imo especially during the mid-sections, but it also needs to be more than 2-cour to get through the story effectively.
If they plan to reach the end they absolutely can't rush or half-ass the last few volumes. Vol 24 is a masterpiece.

*loud whistle* That is a lot of material. Wonder how much it'll go on for.

I'll probably get around to this, I'm all for something soft and beautiful of this nature.

"A tranquil tale about two boys"

Eh, no thank you, i'll pass on this.

the cast look great but i have mixed feelings about the staff

Jan 30, 2018 10:58 PM by elior1

kind of surprised it's not madhouse, considering they done the movie (even it was a flop, maybe that's the reasons?)...

Whew I love how the anime industry for adapting this as a classic fan(casual fan)

they need 50 episodes, 2 cour split airing to perfectly adapt it(200+ chapters), especially there's a lot of moments in the manga that should be prolonged with legit pieces (though real pieces especially the concerto would take 40 mins)

The new key visual looks great. Really hope they give this a nice quality for the animation itself too.
