'Love Live! Sunshine!!' Movie Announced

It was announced during the final episode of Love Live! Sunshine!! 2nd Season, broadcast on Saturday, that the franchise will be receiving an anime movie.

Love Live! Sunshine!! 2nd Season premiered in October and concluded in December after a total of 13 episodes. The franchise's first season aired for 13 episodes from July to September earlier this year.

I wouldn't go that far but I have enjoyed Aqours music and characters more than Muse, even if the anime is a bit more sloppy.

I'm looking forward to the movie, hopefully it isn't a disappointment.. even though half of me knows it will be..

I just hope they have good songs if the movie itself ends up being a huge disappointment, that can save some points for Aqours.

NO! I mean girls watching girl idols are fine they're cute but males would never watch male idols they're g@y!

I hope after Aqours movie they will announce another movie of muse comeback and they meet Aqours and make some kind of collaboration maybe as a pro-idol in adulthood in the future (maybe they all will get scouted by 346 Productions or some other numbers productions lol)

No surprise about a movie version, although the announcement was earlier than I expected. I don't see this movie beating the original LL's Movie of 2.86 billion yen in Japan as Aqours hasn't lived up to the hype. Sales numbers are lower than μ's, even with the introduction of "Idolmaster-like" sales doping. Probably 2~2.5 billion yen in movie gross for Aqours?

That would never happen. Most Love Live fans are males.
Even though I'm a girl, I would hate it too. The magic of idols is the pureness, the cuteness, and making people smile. All male idols can do is making 13 old girls smile

Not as much as Idolmaster, which had a 90% male fanbase (see https://www.famitsu.com/news/201504/06075571.html) before they decided to do Side-M.

Love Live fanbase was 56.6% male in 2015 (see http://yusaani.com/l-ra/t-ra/lovelive/2015/09/19/194023), so a series aimed at females wouldn't make much of a difference tbh.

technically, you're right. its just that seeing this announcement distracted me when watching the finale. though its nothing new, really. I always get spoiled (directly and indirectly) when it comes to Love Live :(

Yeah, but then it takes like half a year for anime movies to get subbed. So we probably won't actually see it until 2019 depending when it's released.
