Upcoming Shogi Anime 'Ryuuou no Oshigoto!' Announces Additional Cast Members

A Niconico Live show for Ryuuou no Oshigoto! TV anime held on Tuesday has announced additional cast members. A new preview has also released. The anime will broadcast on Tuesdays at 12:30 a.m. starting January 9, 2018 via Tokyo MX followed by Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS Fuji, Mie TV, and AT-X. Abema TV will also stream the show.

Ayumu Kannabe: Nobuhiko Okamoto (the 3-gatsu no Lion series)
Kousuke Kiyotaki: Tomohiko Seki (the Saiyuuki series)
Machi Kugui: Sayaka Senbongi (Animegataris)
Chairman Seiichi Gekkou: Show Hayami (Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou)

Btw, kayanon and okamoto are hinata and harunobu from 3gatsu no lion, so this is second reunion for them
And also for shou hayami and kayanon as takahiro and mocha from gochuumon wa usagi desuka

Oh, Shogi genre seems getting popular nowadays. I am okay with 3-gatsu no Lion because it is light-hearted and mixed with slice-of-life. I do not know what to think about this one, it might be a harem anime with a bunch of trash heroines. It is better to stick with the other one.

So basically Ro-Kyu-Bu! except replace basketball with shougi. Given how Tenshi no 3P did recently, I don't think I'm ready for yet another loli harem series. But I'll give this a chance at least. There has to be some reason other than lolis that the series was voted the most popular light novel for the second year now.

I've heard good things about this LN, and it also topped #1 last year and this year. The problem is, I have no connection whatsoever to Shogi. Would I enjoy this anime? Or would I bore myself to death as I don't have knowledge nor the ambition to learn shogi?

Heck, I have no idea what Shikamaru was doing when he's playing with his dad/Asuma.

He's mainly done shows outside my genre interests, and in the few that are within them, they are mostly shows I decided not to watch for some reason or another.

There are a few he was in that I dropped before he showed up, like HxH.

So take one of 3gatsu's aspects which is shogi and just make it more entertaining by comparison. Like no offense really, as much as I love 3gatsu that aspect kinda drove the score low for me. So this seems pretty fitting because it actually looks like it'll use the adrenaline factor along with the mixture of the fun side of it.

I know the comparison with these two are dumb but considering it's taking at least one aspect I guess its fair, especially given how the series will still continue in winter.
