Animation studio Production I.G has announced staff and cast members of previously announced Kodoku no Gourmet anime via a press release on Thursday. Kazuchika Kise (Ghost in the Shell (2015)) will direct the anime, and Kenyuu Horiuchi (Garo: Honoo no Kokuin) will voice the lead character Gorou Inogashira. The anime will soon debut on Tate Anime app for ten episodes, with each running for three minutes. An interview with director Kise will also be streamed on the app on October 13.

Kodoku no Gourmet was serialized in Futosha's Monthly Panja magazine from 1994 to 1996 by Jiro Taniguchi and Masayuki Kusumi. The manga restarted its serialization in January 2008 in SPA! magazine, and was publishing irregularly until Taniguchi's death. The series received a live-action TV drama in Japan, and the sixth season aired this year. A Chinese live-action web drama ran for 12 episodes between May and August in 2015.

More food anime is good unless the food looks ugly.

Sounds right up my alley. Not sure how the old style will jive with Kise directing but it's a short so.

I really hope Tate Anime creates an English version of their app. They have some pretty interesting looking shows. I'd be in for a reasonable price.

If it got adapted that much and it's about food I'm sure it will be to my taste.
