TV Anime 'UQ Holder!' Reveals Additional Cast Members, Theme Song Performers

The official website of UQ Holder!: Mahou Sensei Negima! 2 has revealed additional cast members, theme song information, a promotional video and a visual for the upcoming TV anime. The series is scheduled to premiere in October 2017 on Tokyo MX, followed by tvk, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11.

Cast
Shinobi Yuuki: Sayaka Harada (Aho Girl)
Mizore Yukihiro: Akari Kito (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e (TV))

Touta Konoe (CV: Yuka Takakura), Kuroumaru Tokisaka (CV: Yuuki Hirose), Kirie Sakurame (CV: Ai Kayano), Karin Yuuki (CV: Yui Ogura), Shinobu Yuuki (CV: Sayaka Harada), and Mizore Yukihiro (CV: Akari Kito) will be performing both opening and ending theme songs. The single CD, which includes both opening and ending theme songs, will be released on October 25, 2017. The opening theme is titled "Happy☆Material" (new arrange ver.) and the ending theme is titled "Steady→GO!!"

The appearance of Negi and his team in the promo art worries me. However, considering their appearance was almost a year ago (befpre going monthly), I sure hope they can adapt this properly up to that point. Just PLEASE don't end up like the original anime.

It's funny that despair Shinobu and Mizore (The two character who appeared in much later, while Shinobu is just appeared briefly in the beginning of the manga.) already have their VA, Ikku, Santa, Sayoko, Cutlass and Dana's VA is still being not written in the cast list lol. This is making me feel like I was right about this anime will be another filler. (Though the Key Visual are look accurate to the manga lol)

I hope this will be 2-cour anime. The Key Visuals looks not necessarily extraordinary but at least 2015 standard.

Reminds me I really need to get back reading the Negima manga, seems I stopped just short of when it get's "good". But on the topic of this, I really hope it's not a 13 episode series where they try and cram like five volumes in.

Looks like things haven't changed: people still want to sell Akamatsu-stamped products as naughty comedies, despite how much he had to resist in order to "mutate" Magister Negi Magi in the direction he wanted (and keep it with UQ).

Is Negima's name still so big in Japan to rely on it for an anime set in the same world and recycling some characters?

I wonder if this adapation will skip a lot of chapters in order to adapt the latest ones (going by the fact Mizore Yukihiro does only appear on Chapter 98 + the most recent visual key. So far, some important secondary characters haven't still appeared in the characters' cast list yet - f.ex: Ikkuu Ameya, Santa Sasaki, etc... - which makes me wonder if they will be out of the anime adaptation)...

Well I highly doubt I could watch it during the season or when it even airs even though I recently started the manga today. But well depending on my reading speed I might see it when it comes out or when its done.

Looking at the preview, this is definitely confirmed to be another disastrous adaptation. That franchise is so nice in manga, yet so absolutely catastrophic every time it get an anime series or a movie, why. Is that some kind of curse or something.
Although tsubasalover says most of those scenes are from ovas instead, they wouldn't advertise the series with that if the series was supposed to adapt properly the manga version.

FYI, even though the title on the PV says it's for the TV series (as well as indicating the airing schedule at the end), most of the content are for OVA, which are mostly onsen scenes.
