Light Novel 'Ryuuou no Oshigoto!' Gets TV Anime

It has been announced via a Nico Live broadcast for the light novel Ryuuou no Oshigoto! that the series will get a TV anime adaptation. The anime's official website also opened with details regarding the adaptation.

Synopsis:
The story is about a teenage boy who happens to be a shogi master. One day, a nine-year-old girl turns up at his house, requesting to be taken as his disciple. From there, all kinds of wacky hijinks ensue. (Source: ANN, edited)

Ryuuou no Oshigoto! is written by Shirow Shiratori with illustrations by Shirabi, and has been published via GA Bunko imprint since September 2015. The series currently has five volume in print, with the sixth volume to be published on July 14. A manga adaptation drawn by Kogetaokoge began its serialization in Square Enix' Young Gangan magazine in September 2015. Four compiled volumes of the manga have been released so far, with the fifth volume releasing on July 13.

Ryuuou no Oshigoto! placed first in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! ranking in the best light novel category in 2017. Two Drama CDs for the light novel has also been released.

It feels like it's mixing sangatsu no lion with tenshi no 3p. It doesn't help that the director of tenshi no 3p is coming back to direct this. Now I may enjoy shougi and I may be a lolicon, but the loli-themed fanservice for tenshi no 3p was a bit too excessive for my tastes. I hope that the "wacky hijinks" from the loli coming in and becoming the mc's disciple doesn't become what I think it is...other than that the art is kind of cute.

Well now... this is interesting... and the director did Tenshi no 3P... I can't believe I'm saying this YOSHA LUCKY!! Kinda curious to see how this will play out.

Since it ranked 1st in Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi, I guess its gonna be interesting. I just hope the loli wont be anoying as hell.

It was because the synopsis was wrong in the first place and I had to correct them because no one realized it, which is why I also reply to your post because you got misled by the erroneous synopsis.

The light novel is available in baka tsuki for those who want to try it. Though do take note that it has a warning that it has heavy shogi dependent terms so if you like shows like 3-gatsu not because of its game, well better learn the game first before reading this.

If the girl wanted to become his disciple it could be somewhat interesting but this way it sounds really unfunny. With premise like that it takes just a few minutes to judge if it will suck or not. Director and studio don't make it look any better as well.

So this is Shogi? What are some of the best Shogi Anime so far? In Detective Conan, there's this Shogi Master and sometimes I can't follow it if the case revolves around the game.

whoops, No... well there is 4 volume ongoing, then we can expect no more than 13 episode (that adaptating 3 volume). Since this is game genre anime, so we cant expect this to have a original ending also.

Actually Vol 6 is out this week, and when the anime airs there should be another volume release. But GA Bunko LN series never got 2-cours season anime and Haiyore Nyaruko-san was the only one that got a second season anime. So most likely it will be one-cour and we'll just see if it will get another season.

Well, as expected, this LN has only recently become a work of the month in Light Novel Sugoi!. The only thing that surprises me is the new trend on Shogi.
