CG Animation 'Cocolors' Makes International Premiere at Fantasia Film Festival
Animation studio Kamikaze Douga, known for its production of animated shorts blending 2D and 3D techniques, has announced that its first full-length film Cocolors will make its international premiere at the 21st Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada.
Cocolors was first created as a silent animation film and screened at the 17th Machi Asobi event in Tokushima Prefecture in October 2016. The film was initially screened with voice actors providing live dubbing and a music ensemble performing a live soundtrack. Cocolors was presented to audiences in this manner until a completed edition was screened at the 18th Machi Asobi event this past May.
The 21st Fantasia International Film Festival will be held between July 13 and August 2. The full cast and staff of the 45-minute completed film was announced for the first time ahead of the festival's screenings.
Synopsis
There is a world in which an endless rain of dark ash fills the sky, and covers the earth. Humanity, fearing the ash that burns and melts away human flesh, had no choice but to cover themselves in protective suits, and their faces with gigantic masks. Bundled up in their suits and hidden away behind their masks, the people have fled deep within the underground. This is the story of the children growing up in this fearful world.

That poster has been in use by Cocolors since October 2016. Pop Team Epic was announced in April 2017 as an intentional parody copy-paste on the Cocolors background art.
