TV Anime 'Shokugeki no Souma' Receives Third Season

The 30th issue of this year's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that TV anime Shokugeki no Souma will receive a third season. Titled Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara, the third season is slated for Fall 2017. The issue also revealed that the main cast will reprise their roles.

Written by Yuuto Tsukuda with illustrations by Shun Saeki, Studio J.C.Staff has adapted Shokugeki no Souma into two TV anime seasons with the first airing in Spring 2015 for a total of 24 episodes and the second in Summer 2016 for 13 episodes. The manga previously inspired three OVAs with its 18th, 19th, and 25th compiled volume last year.

So i recently finished the anime and went straight to the manga, read 3-4 chapters then i saw this, so my question is: Should i just wait till seson 3 is finished and continue where the manga anime leaves the manga or is it worth it to read the manga first?? Thoughts?

I'm really excited for season 3. I got so into it that I looked at all the characters profiles to know them better. Sadly it also contained some spoilers which gave me an idea about what season 3 will be like.

The last few episodes of season 2( during the stagaire) was my fav part of season 2. Especially when Shinomiya told Yukihira to take the 1st seat. 😄

i think you are right since the manga is really popular and is selling really well. Moreover, the anime is also doing really well and is really being enjoyed by the majority.

Like every episode was the same. Just different characters doing the competition in every episode. Yeah, different tastes. I really enjoyed its 1st season, though. I just got tired because I thought the 2nd season was focus on the competition, so I got tired and dropped the show.

Does anyone know if it'll air for 13 or 24 episodes atm? This is probably asking a lot since it's only been a month since they even announced they'd produce another season.

Most likely it will be one-cour covering the Moon Banquet Festival and Central arcs. It won't cover any part of the Promotion Exams arc because it's still ongoing. It will take at least two-cours to cover the current arc.

if we goes by pure amount content, yes, there are enough like 10 or more volume ahead... the main problem is that the current arc which the longest saga can't has satisfying ending and unfinished yet and always will be ended in cliffhanger note...
