Dies Irae is a pretty lackluster IP, as a VN it's got a lot of style (and by a lot of style I mean it's all style - and that style is kitsch) and little substance, though it has a lot more action than most VNs so it will probably appeal to the masses who don't really care what source an anime comes from.

Probably will be popular on MAL, especially among edgekids.

The MC is a twat. The villain is a Scooby Doo character. The girls are mostly all cardboard cutouts of some sadist's wildest dreams.

Edit: There may be top-quality memes coming out of this.

Good joke.It is a joke, right?

FSN Stands right up there with the likes of Steins Gate and MuvLuv for some of the most complex writing and worldbuilding and characters, not to mention having downright most complex, developed and interesting VN protagonist ever written.

This looks nothing like that.

Well, seems like people who actually played it have a different opinion:

Oh wow, I remember reading that review years ago. Kind of cool to read through it again now that I've read the VN when it was released on steam a few weeks ago.

I can't really read the VN since I don't have either money to get it when it's released, but the staff looks decent to be very honest. He did Magic Kaito 1412 which is probably the most underrated show in my opinion, and the writer seems good although after what I checked from Alex's above post, I do hope this can be good to be fair.

Looks kinda cringy, but I hope it's actually good.

The VN is praised by many people for its great writing but so was Fate/Stay night so I'll be a bit cautious with this one.

If this is adapted properly it will be the best Anime of fall 2017 maybe even all of 2017, the Vn is a masterpiece! (: think of as a better version of Fate stay night

This is the type of anime that will be forgotten and end up in the depth of MAL list.

That PV feels chuuni as hell, complete with chuuni as fuck PV song you'd expect from a video game or european power metal band. Might be a decent popcorn watch or maybe a watch for the "Count the Tropes" drinking game.

The production staff is "ehhh" level. Having GITS ARise director on this is a red flag.
ACGT having done absolute trash lately also is a huge red flag (at least this hopefully means that they won't touch Kino No Tabi sequel, if this is their next "once in five years" project). The PV did not inspire confidence either.
Also Nazi aesthetic in character designs = huge red flag.

OH so it's finally really happening after all those years.
The VN was pretty nice - at least after the patch thingy back then - but I don't have any hopes for the anime tbh.

This feels like it could be a hit or a miss. I remember the anime project being announced awhile ago.

Another mediocre looking chuuni VN adaptation. Oh boy, this sure is exciting.

@Jiharo just making the comparison since it's the most recent VN adaptation I know of with the original scenario writer involved. I'm well aware of the warning signs it had, but having the creator's name attached is still something people hang on to, even if it doesn't guarantee it to pan out.

It's not warning signs though, the director specifically tweeted that it would be an original so using that is kinda moot as comparison because 1st season sure doesn't follow the source.

Well yeah but that wasn't until well after it had been announced even though they knew from the beginning, which made people feel like they took advantage of them by withholding, coupled with Tanaka being involved = expectations.

But it's not about that, it's more about the writer being involved, which is always a beacon of hope for the fans that the sanctity of the story will stay intact.

Anyway I find it more hopeful that he's the only script/comp listed, but I wasn't that impressed by the rest
