The February issue of Shounen Gangan has announced that manga Mahoujin Guru Guru will get a new TV anime adaptation. Gangan Online, which held a countdown since New Year, also announced the same news at 1 p.m today. The new cast members for Nike and Kukuri will be announced on January 21, 2017 via seventh volume of the sequel manga.

Synopsis
Mahoujin Guru Guru is a light-hearted series aimed at older children; it contains occasional toilet gags and some innuendo that might startle western parents. It also is a parody of early role-playing video games (RPGs), particularly turn-based games such as the Dragon Quest games. The narrator speaks in place of the dialog in such games, and this is one of the comedy elements of the show. Often role-playing videogame-style information boxes are displayed on screen with accompanying narration in the traditional RPG style. The overall goal of the main characters, Nike and Kukuri, is to defeat Giri, the ruler of the darkness. Since the anime is based on an RPG, several side quests need to be completed before they are able to locate him. (Source: Wikipedia)

Mahoujin Guru Guru was drawn by Hiroyuki Etou and was serialized in Shounen Gangan between July 1992 and August 2003, with 16 compiled volumes in print. A sequel of the original series began publishing on Gangan Online in November 2012, where the seventh compiled volume will be released on January 21.

The original manga was adapted into a 45-episode TV anime by Nippon Animation, which was broadcast between October 1994 and September 1995. A side-story also premiered in April 1996. It also received a 38-episode TV sequel in Spring 2000.

Very excited for the sequel! Praying that this will hopefully be the sequel to the 2000 series, since the animators dropped it halfway through.
Whether or not the Western audience will find it as appealing or not with the gags, hopefully the animators will finish this series to the very end!

Oh my Kira. This can't be real.

The first adaptation turned into crap around halfway due to anime original arc or something. But the thing was amazing to start with. Kira kira man is the best.

Weird thing to have in a synopsis.

Seems like a second sequel though. :O
