'Uchouten Kazoku' Gets Sequel

An announcement made by P.A. Works at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair this year revealed that Uchouten Kazoku (The Eccentric Family) will be getting an anime sequel. The series is P.A. Works' first sequel and staff from the first season will return. In addition, the main cast of the first season will also be resuming their roles.

The first season aired from July to September 2013 for a total of 13 episodes. It was the only TV anime to win the Excellence Award at the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2013. A manga adaptation was also published with four volumes. The second season will be based on the second volume of the novel titled Uchouten Kazoku Nidaime No Kicho which was published by Gentosha in February 2015, and third (and possibly final) volume announcement has been made by author Tomihiko Morimi at the end of the second volume.

The best PA Works show. Would've never expected more of it because PA usually does not do sequels.

YES.

This and Kuromukuro are literally the best things PA Works have made, so hopefully this will be at least as well animated and good as Kuromukuro has been so far.

No words can express how excited I am after reading this. P.A. Works doing a first-time sequel, and Uchouten Kazoku no less! Here's also hoping for a Shirobako S2.

Damn, after 3 years, P.A. Works gave this a second season. Good for the fans! I've heard about this anime before but I didn't know what it was about. After reading the synopsis, it sounds kinda interesting. I might check it out before the second season airs :D

That is some very good news, and good to hear the same staff will be working on it.
The first season had a lovely story and I remember being even more blown away by P.A. works animation then normally. Haven't read the novel, so I'm curious what this season will entail.

I didn't know about this anime but I guess I'll watch it before the start of S2 of this anime. Please Shirobako and Hanasaku Iroha S2, PA Works. Make it happen!
