TV Anime 'Boku no Hero Academia' Adds Cast Members and Fifth PV

The AnimeJapan stage event for the Spring 2016 anime Boku no Hero Academia has announced two additional cast members for the series. Color character designs by animator Yoshihiko Umokoshi were also unveiled last week.

Shouta Aizawa: Junichi Suwabe (Fate/stay night)

Present Mic: Hiroyuki Yoshino (Hai to Gensou no Grimgar)

The fifth promotional video for the anime was also released on the official website on Saturday. The adaptation of Kouhei Horikoshi's superhero manga by animation studio Bones will begin airing on April 3. The eighth compiled manga volume will go on sale on April 4.

Except they'll always announce it to be a split-cour along with the episode count, way before the airing of the first cour, see Akagami no Shirayukihime and Bungou Stray Dogs for example. Yeah, all of their 2-cour shows have been split-cours since 2 years ago but like I said, they'll announce it as a split-cour firsthand. It's not like they've never done 1-cour show recently too, see Noragami and Kekkai Sensen.

There's only two possibilities for this right now, either it'll be announced as a surprise split-cour at the end of the season later and change to other timeslot in Fall (since it's current timeslot will be occupied by Gundam IBO S2 until next Spring unless it changes its timeslot instead) or it'll be just a 1-cour. We're looking for a fact here and there's none so let's not get ahead of ourselves. Of course, I do believe it'll get multiple seasons later since this is a WSJ title with potential to be the next big shounen but for now, let's just assumed it will be 13 episodes unless it is stated otherwise later.

What do you mean? A split cour hasn't been confirmed, so the other option is not having a split cour at all.

and i think after summer Gundam Iron-blooded Oprhans is back in this timeslot sooo ... its gonna be minimum spring 2017

13 episodes is not enough to have all the stuff in it. Too many things will go unexplained and there really won't be any ''epic'' finale episode with the episode count. We won't see enough of Todoroki Shouto who I think is quite an important character, we probably won't see much interaction with the other main characters as well. If it's 13 episodes, the main focus will only be on Midoriya (or Deku)'s development with his power and show off other people's powers as well. The manga really doesn't get into any special story line until later on.

Bones have been doing split-cours for all of their 2-cour shows since 2 years ago. If it's really a surprise split-cour, either this or Gundam IBO S2 will have to change their timeslot since the latter is coming back in Fall.

That's how Bones rolls.

(Shirayuki, Stray Dogs, and Concrete Revolutio are recent examples)

New PV looks great, even though it most showed the first chapter of the manga. Also Suwabe's a great chose for Aizawa :D

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a split cour for this as Bones gave Bungou Stray Dogs and Concrete Revolutio the same treatment. Plus the manga sells like hotcakes.
