The official website of the upcoming original 3D anime project Sushi Police announced that it will air on Tokyo MX from January 7, 2016. It is scheduled for a 5-minute time slot on the network and will also be made available on various online distribution channels.

The term "sushi police" has been used by Western media outlets to refer the Japanese government's attempt to certify and authenticate restaurants overseas which claim to serve Japanese food. The anime follows three men who crack down on bad Japanese restaurants.

Sushi Police was exhibited at 68th Cannes Film Festival in May, and its key visual received a prize at The Hollywood Reporter's 2015 Cannes Poster Awards. That award recognizes the "most amusing and over-the-top promotional materials from the festival's market."

Looks more like a cartoon instead of anime....

There's no difference, its the same fucking term.

No, like in the traditional western cartoon style instead of the Japanese animation style.

This anime seems like a passive aggressive way of putting down multiculturalism

Because this is a forum. Forum is a place for saying a things which you have in your mind. Deal with it. I don't like how it looks, I hate the fact that more and more anime is done in ultra shitty 3DCG (because 2d animation is a kind of art), so I'm saying it, whether you Iike it or not.
I've never understood people like you for example, which are complaining about fact that someone want to say that he/she don't like it.

Sure, you can write what you want. But is it really necessary to go out of your way to express your negative opinion? Isn't there enough negativity in the outside world already? Surely for the benefit of others you can just move on.

Don't mind them. Its just children with kneejerk reaction towards something out of ordinary being used in production.

I can think of a few "Japanese" restaurants in my country that badly need checking by this Sushi Police...

I'd rather watch Despicable Me than this shit

It looks interesting enough and is short, so I see no reason not to give it a watch whether it's 3D or not. I mean it probably took just as long to write this pointless comment than it will to watch some 5 minute short.

Not liking the animation at all. It looks like a crappy show that would go on some kids channel that you never even knew was on your cable package.

Pass!

Thst's why it's only 5 minutes long. The joke is going to get old very fast.

"Sushi Police" What is up with the stupid anime titles lately? I'll probably watch it because the title (and how the trailer looks) suggests that this is going to be some comedy anime show.

Do people even read the OP nowadays:

I clicked the PV hoping for Inferno Cop level quality. Expectations too high. Bitterly disappointed.
