'Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie: The Dark Side of Dimensions' Premieres Spring 2016

It was announced on Saturday at Comic-Con International: San Diego, that the brand new movie from the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, titled Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions, will premiere in Japan in Spring 2016.

The movie is set to take place six months after the story of the manga and will feature original characters from the franchise, such as Yugi and Seto Kaiba. According to Kazuki Takahashi, the original creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series, some of the characters and monsters will be redesigned.

It was revealed during the panel that the movie will feature a new threat comprising a new villain with powerful cards. It was also referenced that Kaiba will be a centerpiece to the movie's plot. Other characters set to return include Jonouchi (Joey), Anzu (Téa), and Bakura from the original series. It was also mentioned that the new cards will be released for fans to actually purchase.

The new movie will be celebrated as part of the manga's 20th anniversary.

Aside from Kaiba's cheating from Pegasus tourney, he never wins even with his overpowered deck against Yami. This plot is getting old... But I'm more eager to see the new arts for the Dark Magician and the rest of Yami's deck. Hopefully, Joey can star in this movie too.

There's a new threat and Kaiba is the centerpiece of it so I don't think he'll be dueling Yami again this time or at least that's what I'm hoping for.

OT: So many childhood anime getting sequels. Much appreciated but I would've loved it if it was about Arc-V. It's the best Yu-Gi-Oh! series so far.

I'm so hyped about it.

Evil bakura looks like an evil version of Jesse from Gx (crystal beasts character). Good to know that the original voice actors for both Yugi and Kaiba are making a return.

I take it the different dimenions is somehow tied to arc v's ideology of multiple dimensions. Sounds cool

NEW CARDS! that's important for me. hope not full of OP cards like pendulum series (ARC-V). their cards are really broke the game. but looking for some redisgned older cards rerelease an redisgned, i have big hope for this.

Nice ^^ Now for the long wait...If it sets after the manga, I wonder if the refs would be based off the manga, or the anime...Since basically both media were quite different.
