Not really. Naruto had a much bigger boost after the anime, and in 2008, where it's highest selling volume in both is 100k+. I think Death note also had 100k+ volume.

The thing is, SnK best sales are in the first volume and maybe the second one, the others sell in the 20k range.

Yeah, they still have the cheetos coloring in volume 2 (although I don't think it's as much as they used in volume 1, not sure).

The coloring is kinda bullshit though, only the first couple of pages are full color. Then a few select chapters are given this weird orange color, making it look like cheetos got splattered all over it. Didn't get volume 2 yet, but I'm assuming it will stay in that format.
