A new animated film titled Taifuu no Noruda (Typhoon Noruda) was announced by Studio Colorido during the premiere of TV series Punchline. The film is set to debut in Japan on June 5 and will remain in theaters for a limited three weeks.

Taifuu no Noruda is the studio's first feature-length film since their formation in 2011. Their previous works include a number of short ONA anime, along with two short films released in November 2013, titled Shashinkan and Hinata no Aoshigure.

Synopsis
The film takes place on a certain isolated island, at a certain middle school, and on the eve of the culture festival. A boy quits baseball after playing his whole life and has a fight with his best friend. Then, they suddenly meet a mysterious, red-eyed girl named Noruda, and a huge typhoon hits the middle school. I actually found this while browsing the Galileo Galilei tag on Tumblr. The words 'new song' and 'anime movie' were definitely enough to draw me in, and after watching the preview videos, I'm definitely looking forward to watching this. I enjoy the art as well- the character designs remind me a bit of Makoto Shinkai's works in that they're pretty simple, contrasting with a more detailed and realistic background- and I like the juxtaposition of bright, sunny-day palettes and the ominous monochrome of the storm. I'd say, to me, from the preview at least, it seems to have a Ghibli type of atmosphere, so sounds good to me.
As people have mentioned before me, I'm getting some NGE vibes from this [ maybe it's the character design ], even though I've never watched NGE before ^^'

tl;dr - New Galileo song, art that is -simply- beautiful, promises of feels? Sign me up!

Galileo Galilei?!??! Hell yeah! Love their music, can't get enough of Ozaki Yuuki's voice. The key visual is cute I guess, lots of characters.

ZnT, anyone?
Even tho the character designs looks more like something between NGE and 5 Meters a second..

Sounds interesting, added to my PTW.

We don't need another makoto shinkai/mamoru hosoda japanese directors, japan needs more conceptualized movies, not just drama and feel good kids shows, but stuff like Yasuhiro Yoshiura trying to do if he could get it together and make a coherent plot

edit: I like melodrama so I will watch this.... teehee

Oooooo I'm excited! The animation in the teaser looks great, as expected. I can see this film being really good.

Sure gonna watch it. It's by a young animation studio, and I'm pretty excited what they have to offer.

The teaser seems like a fusion between Shinkai's CoMix Wave and Hosoda's Studio Chizu. Guaranteed it's gonna look great.

The art is nice! (ノ)´ω`(ヾ) I also don't remember the last time I watched an (original) anime film mainly about two boys (although the girl is important too, but still in the background) ヽ(゚∀゚ゞ) I'm also looking forward to finding out how exactly all these things will turn out to be connected with each other~

This sounds confusing. If 'they' are fighting how do 'they' meet the girl together? Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Added.
She appears when they are fighting?

Fair enough. Withdrawn.

I wanted to be excited for this, but I'm still waiting on a subbed version of those 2013 short films...
