Manga News

Creators of 'Freezing' to Start New Manga Series
The official site of Yawaraka Spirit announced that Dal-young Im and Kwang Hyun Kim, the creators of Freezing, will start a new series titled Monochrome: Teito Ninpouchou. The story follows the adventures of a ninja woman and her battles against formidable fighters. The first chapter will be available via the official site on March 18.

A key visual for the manga was also revealed.

BL Manga Seven Days Gets Live Action Movie
It was announced that a live action movie of the series is in the works. Tomoki Hirose and Takeshi James Yamada will play the role of the two main characters.

Director Hiromasa Yonebayashi Leaves Studio Ghibli
Hiromasa Yonebayashi announced on a talk show event, held March 12, that he left Studio Ghibli. He worked on the Japanese Academy Award-winning film Karigurashi no Arrietty and the recently nominated Omoide no Marnie, by the same award-giving body.

Mangaka Aoyama Gosho Hospitalized
It was announced that the mangaka was hospitalized and will be discharged this summer. The serialization of Detective Conan will be released irregularly.

Seiyuu Shinji Ogawa Dies at 74
Shinji Ogawa's talent agency website announced that the seiyuu succumbed to bronchiolitis on March 7. It was previously reported that his health deteriorated and that he was replaced by Banjou Ginga in a supporting character role in Kekkai Sensen.
