GAINAX Produces Hanamaru Youchien Anime With Mizushima Seiji [Updated]

According to Young GanGan no.12, Yuto's manga "Hanamaru Youchien (Hanamaru Kindergarten)" was announced to get an anime adaptation.

Why is everybody so surprised about this? GAINAX does do things other than mecha :D

Personally, I was reminded of the recent Petite Eva series and GAINAX's new policy of doing "generic money makers" in between their "actual" works. Think "He Is My Master" or "Maharomatic". Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the team of mostly non-GAINAX employees seem to solidly place this in the former category.

All that said, I'm still going to watch it, because I am a fan-girl and I watch anything GAINAX touches.

Let's be honest GundamUC... you're absolutely right, Mizushima is not a good director (even if I find the first season of Gundam 00 to be far worse than the second).

Read 3 chapters of the manga, reminds me a lot of Kodomo no Jikan except without ecchi. I think this'll be a good timewaster.

I'm hoping that it's animated FLCL style.

While I thought that Mizushima did good on Slayers Next, his last two major directorial works (FMA and Gundam 00) suffered horrible second halves. even if this will be by GAINAX, with Mizushima on the helm, not sure if I WANT.........
