New Series of Manga Great Teacher Onizuka Announced

According to Weekly Shonen Magazine, Fujisawa Tohru will start a new series of manga "Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)" from issue 28. The title is "GTO Shonan 14 Days" and the story takes place in Shonan bay area.

According to Mainichi Online, the new series is not a sequel, but a new episode within the previous series.

Honestly, the anime was good, but the manga is only half over where the anime ends. Also, as often is the case, the manga is on the dirtier side. (A lot of the perversion was toned down in the anime for obvious reasons)

Dunno why nobody ever answered this~ I have heard that the manga is enjoyed much more than the anime. I personally only read the manga, but know plenty of people who basically advised "don't bother watching the anime if you already read the manga"

Finally, someone makes a worthwhile contribution to the thread. Honestly, some of us actually care about STORY above everything else. GTO ended well, so the author better have a damn good story to continue the character of Onizuka otherwise its just going to be rehashed shit which isnt funny.
