Light Novel 'Another' to Get Sequel This Fall

Yukito Ayatsuji has announced that he will begin writing a sequel to his horror light novel Another. The sequel, tentatively titled Another 2, will be set in the year 2001. The new novel is set to begin serialization this Fall.

The original light novel has been adapted into both a manga and an anime.

Animation green-lit announcement when?

I'm not sure why I liked Another so much, maybe i was just a simpleton being easily entertained by the ridiculous goings-on and various means of death that made for such great comedy, or maybe I genuinely enjoyed the softer moments. I gave the series a 9/10 for personal reasons, though i certainly wouldn't try to recommend it to anyone.

I know that this is an adaptation, but the pacing of the unfolding details is pretty freakin' slow, not to mention how entertaining the MC i found to be

I find the show more silly than suspenseful or gripping.
And for the

What am I watching, Final Destination? The complete random nature of the brutality made me laugh more than scared.

I certainly will give credit to PA Works for doing another bang-up job with the creepy music score. But even the atmosphere feels wasted when every single thing is made edgy

. Not to mention that alot of things are horribly miscast ; decent horror/suspense requires subtlety (Higurashi came into mind, while this one just casually throws everything right on our viewers' face. In short, the whole series is nothing but a laughingstock.

God, thank you very much for the sequel. This glorious comedy needs more love.

Oh my... How can something so great happen? It's like a dream coming true ! I really thought the ending was closed. I can't wait for this, and I'm gonna pray for a future anime adaptation.

The novel should be another high school mystery. Maybe the same setting but with different cast, different story line and somehow they are connected to the first. That's how they go about expanding the "universe"

I would think it's better to have a different main character this time around to give us a different perception in another location :)

First series was legitimately creepy and well done as far as horror anime goes, so I'am keen to see this. Though I'am not sure it can be as good since the anime does not immediately need a sequel

Not really looking forward to this.

This type of story isn't something that you can pull off more than once. It'll be nothing but gore fanservice and probably garbage.

But I won't read it anyway.
