[Retracted] 'Toaru Kagaku no Railgun' to Receive 3rd Season

This was a part of an April Fools' Joke, even though it's been over a week since. There will be a Nico Live event with huge announcements on April 10, 2014. Whether there will be a third season or not will be confirmed then. There was no anime season 3 announcements during the Nico Live (both Index and Railgun). I apologize for having been trolled.

According to a magazine scan published via a tweet, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun will receive a 3rd season. The staff that was revealed on the scan remains the same. More information will come at a later time.

Tomorrow is an Index/Railgun event in Japan, so it wouldn't even make any sense to announce a new anime project in a magazine one day prior to it.

The very article your source is from mentions that it's a fake (and is an April Fool Day's joke).

Assuming this is true (which apparently isn't confirmed yet?), it's stupid. Another season with 12 episodes full of plot and the rest dedicated to pointless filler. Index III would make a lot more sense.

Was expecting Index III first since they came out in turns before...
(Index I > Railgun > Index II > Railgun S)

Oh well, more from the series is always welcomed... Let's hope it turns out good too.

Where's my Toaru Majutsu no Index third season?
I'm happy to have more Misaka, but there isn't enough manga material for a new season of Railgun, with the saga following the Sisters Arc still running, so we should be forced with more filler, while Index has the battles with God's Right Seat, the Third World War, the Freshmen, Gremlin... a ton of material that can be used

Time to complete the second season then. Won't hurt to see more from the Index-universe, and I get to follow the weekly episodes as well.
