New 'Fate/stay night' TV Anime Announced For Fall 2014

According to the upcoming issue of Newtype Ace, the previously announced anime adaptation of visual novel Fate/stay night will be a TV series broadcast in Fall 2014. The source vaguely mentioned that it will be a new story outside of the original work that told by Kinoko Nasu, but is very important and near Fate/Zero in terms of feeling and atmosphere. It was further stated that Shirou Emiya will play a more central role in the new series, and some of the characters' outfits will also be modernized from their original designs.

The visual novel was previously adapted into the TV series Fate/stay night in 2006 and movie Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works in 2010, by Studio Deen. Urobuchi Gen's novel was then adapted into the TV series Fate/Zero by ufotable in 2012.

Sorry people, fans of the route, but I don't buy a Knight King X Dreamer boy relationship. That's why I'm being pessimistic

How are you saying Fate is 90% certain? I know Saber's character arc is covered in Fate, but if F/SN is supposed to be the story continued from F/Z, then it has to cover:

Fate, UBW, and HF all are going to be needed to depict a complete picture.

Quite frankly, despite her immense popularity, I don't see Saber as the romantic love interest. One being is she already was one in the original. Two being I can't imagine F/Z Saber suddenly falling in love with Shirou. Three being I think the love interest will be Rin since she's the next most popular (and people don't like Sakura nowhere near her or Saber), her romantic subplot wasn't really covered too much in the UBW movie, and she got her own episode in F/Z.

Except that Nasu said to creat FSN without FZ in mind, and ofc all 3 routes continue the story.Whatever they choose to animate, if they dont do all 3, they will have something to do with FZ.

FZ Saber felll for Shirou because of what happened in FZ.If the last war hadnt affected her in such a negative way(Kiritsugu,Rider,Gil), she wouldnt be affected by him.
I still believe that Arturia shouldnt fall for him , for those reasons, but if we think of the reasons she supposedly made her love him then yes it is plausible.

Rin got her own ep in FZ because with her they could make something out of the few pages she had in the novel.With Sakura it would be her being raped by worms and Ilya would be sitting in the castle.

Just like in Fate: Saber hurts Archer, tries to kill Rin but Shirou stops her and says "A girl souldn't be swinging swords around"

Good animation is always a pleasure, but Fate... I don't hate the route completely but I couldn't stand it again, the visual novel was enough, I guess I will watch some moments (Excalibur against Rider for example).

Just throwing it out there, HF is the first route I completed. And I was not confused, whatsoever. I could tell there was a couple things I missed out on from previous routes, but I honestly do think HF could be a great standalone if done right. (I know that's not what you think would be best and I'm not trying to argue or anything, just saying).

The best case scenario is if they were to adapt all three. The worst case scenario, for me, is if they just do the fate route. I'd honestly be so frustrated. I couldn't even get through the fate route in the vn, I played a bit and got so infuriated with Shirou that I downloaded a gamesave so I could skip to the other routes since I had heard they were better. I love HF and UBW a lot, but damnit I can't deal with the Fate route.

I wonder when they will even confirm what it is they're doing, I definitely expected to know more by now, geeze.

That's almost what DEEN made years ago. If it is mostly Fate route + elements of UBW and HF, even if its properly done I will skip it. I love F/SN but I can't stand Fate again.

I am sure that when(if) Fate route starts airing with glorious ufotable visuals you will watch it again without much trouble(unless if they fuck up ofc)

That's almost what DEEN made years ago. If it is mostly Fate route + elements of UBW and HF, even if its properly done I will skip it. I love F/SN but I can't stand Fate again.

Don't watch Fate/Stay Night. The Deen adaption is bad. Real bad.

Wait for this adaption as this is a direct sequel to Fate/Zero.
