Light Novel 'Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu' Has Anime Adaptation In the Works

The wraparound jacket on the upcoming fifth volume of light novel "Ore, Twintails ni Narimasu." will announce that an anime adaptation is in the works for the series.

The novel first began publishing in June 2012 and is written by Yume Mizusawa (with illustrations by Ayumu Kasuga).

Synopsis:
Mitsuka Souji is a first year high school student who greatly loves the "twintails" hairstyle. One day a beautiful girl, Thuearle, who comes from another world, suddenly appears in front of him and gives him the power to transform into the twintails warrior TailRed. Now Souji, with the help of his childhood friend Tsube Aika who can become the twintails warrior TailBlue, must fight in order to protect the peace on earth. (Source: J-Wikipedia)

It might have, I'm not sure. It's not my thing. I think in at least some way the magical girl genre has some kind of roots or connection to the more general girls' fantasy of being a "princess" or special/extra-beautiful/etc. With boys, they tend to go the hyper-masculine route, being aggressive, dangerous-looking, powerful, violent, foreboding, etc., prime example being Dragon Ball Z. Magical girls usually (though not always) tend to go hyper-feminine, so I think that stereotype-duality has been a main reason why magical boys are so rare.

This anime's concept, boy turns into magical girl, reminds me of Kämpfer a bit, but I really hope it's done better than that one. Kämpfer lacked a considerable amount of depth, IMHO.

Not criticizing your tastes, to each their own. As far as I've seen, there has not been any magical boys (but I mean I haven't seen every anime in existence so I can't state this for a fact) type thing, minus stuff like Star Driver here and there.

While I do know that, it's not so bad to go off the typical route once in a while. I'm not really one for stereotypes. Why not break them? I mean anime is pretty crazy to begin with. Star Driver-esque things are totally welcome, imo.

Was going through the Romance, School genre Novel list and came upon this, didn't understand the title at all, read the sypnosis and realized there's no need to use your brain for this series, looking forward to the anime.

and i just finished an anime about a a dude with a megane fetish. i gave that a shot cuz it was from kyo anime.

This series will probably have a pseudo-harem anyway, which is why I prefer the genderbending: I'd much rather much a dumb lesbian harem than people swarming around male idiots like Ichika from Infinite Stratos.

i don't care about the stupid harem, i just want a guy in a skimpy outfit. and it's the same stupid thing just the gender is reversed, it would still be a bunch of girls fawning over someone who doesn't deserve it and that's just annoying as a stupid male being fought over by a bunch of chicks.

The synopsis sounds incredibly dumb so it's highly unlikely I'll watch it. Admittedly, it's wrong to judge a book by its cover, but in this particular case it's hard not to.

Well, I tend to really like genderbends, so I think maybe I'll give it a shot. Maybe read the manga or something. It doesn't sound really all that amazing, but then again sometimes they sounds awful and turn out alright.
