'Go! Go! 575' from Project 575 to Get Short TV Anime Series

Sega announced today that "Go! Go! 575" is being adapted into a short TV anime series, and will air in January 2014. The official anime site of Go! Go! 575 has also opened. Go! Go! 575 is from Project 575, which is a PlayStationVita and iOS game.

Project 575 is a game to create Japanese haiku or tanka (Japanese poetry that uses the rule of 5/7/5 and 5/7/5/7/7 syllables, respectively).

Two characters and cast members were announced, but more information including staff will be announced soon.

Masaoka Azuki: Ootsubo Yuka
Kobayashi Maccha: Ohashi Ayaka

I found out about this announcement late last night, I will be watching it but skipping the games while I like the characters and music, I'm not a fan of rhythm games.

Seems like Utayome 575 is composed of two main characters that already announced, since the coupling songs are their solo character songs.

The answer is yes and no. As the article in Anime!Anime said here:

ヒロイン・正岡小豆役の大坪由佳さんと小林抹茶役の大橋彩香さんがユニット“うたよめ５７５”を結成し、担当する

It states specifically that the seiyuu (of the two main characters) are forming "Utayome 575". This means the unit if made up of the seiyuu, NOT the characters. So the members of the unit will be billed in seiyuu's names, not character's names. This is the same as in other seiyuu units like Rokyubu for example.

Commie translated Chihayafuru because CR's TL was awful, you shouldn't worry too much. They like challenges and maintaining haiku format should be an interesting one. Or, if we get lucky, lyger will pick this up with his EveTaku.

I wonder if anyone will even dare translate this. I can see it being quite difficult to maintain Haiku prose in a Japanese-English translation, so will anyone even try? (Assuming Crunchyroll decide to not pick it up.)
