Remake of Yaoi OVA Ai no Kusabi Announced

According to the official website, AIC will remake a yaoi OVA "Ai no Kusabi". It will be a 13-episode series and will be released in the autumn of 2009.

Really good news! It's hardly to believe that this project revived, but I think they made the right decision. Such a popular title will be profitable anyway.
Let's hope they will not twist the conception much.

Just so everyone knows, the studio that was making this went bankrupt and so the project was cancelled.

Yeah, and let's be real, even being yaoi, Ai no Kusabi is simply SO MUCH MORE!

I swear the last thing i was thinking while watching this anime for the 2nd time was "wow, yaoi *-*"...

Ai no Kusabi is a Masterpiece! One of the most beautiful love stories I ever saw in animes, and still having a WTF! That's AWESOME background story!!

I'm RLY RLY RLY anxious to see this remake, cause I was totally thinking "this should have more episodes" when the OVAs ended.

And I'm rly rly rly afraid of what they'll do, asking myself if they can maintain the awesomeness of the original OVAs *_* *crossed fingers*

Wow, the animation style is so much nicer than the original (and I liked the original). I can't wait to see this.

New designs are at the site. Equal to the original, just with a different art style. It seems pretty much amazing to me. ^^

Hahaha. Thanks. I was lazy to look it up and finally I did because you pointed it out. I don't know what to really feel with the new art style. I have mix feelings about the new and old one. ^ ^

Will they also remake/revise the graphics/art style or probably just make the character design finer or not at all? Hmm, let's see.

I would love to watch the subbed DVD after...since it's prolly uncensored. On the second thought, I'll be excited not to able to wait for it and watch it while airing (which is censored I bet :( )

As you see, Koyasu voiced another character in the CD dramas (Daryl is Iason's current Furniture and he doesn't even appear in the first OVA, although he had a prominent role in the novels) so it is not very probable that he'll take the leading role.

Besides, Ookawa did sound damn sexy as Mustang...

In the new drama CDs Koyasu doesn't voice Daryl (however interesting it might have been XD) but another Blondie whose name escapes me at the moment.
I don't think it's been reported they're going to use the same cast, although it sounds sensible ^^.

I dunno who they could pick to voice Iason, since Shiozawa's been dead since 2000.

In case that somebody cares, it is assumed that the new OVAs will use the same cast as the new CD dramas made after Shiozawa's death. And that would be the following:

Iason - Tooru Ookawa (mostly known to the mainstream audience as Roy Mustang from FMA)

Riki - Kentarou Itou

Katze - Shinichiro Miki

Raoul - Takaya Kuroda

Guy - Kousuke Toriumi
